    Torre going to the dodgers?

    http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=3086202

If this happens I could see several ex Yankees following him to L.A., they have the money to sign guys like Posada, Rivera, maybe even A-rod. I believe he'll need several players to make them a contender with Arizona and Colorado.

What do you all think of this move?

The Dodgers are not interested in Posada, they already have Russell Martin. No interest in Rivera either I don't think, they have Saito and Broxton. ARod is a possibility but this has already been discussed. The Dodgers are not going to make wholesale changes in their roster this offseason, that is, unless Colletti is an idiot which cannot be discounted as a possibility. They will look to make a couple of tweaks here and there, and look to develop more of their young talent. They've already brought up some of their young position players, the pitchers will be next.

If only they gave the more playing time earlier on in the season rather than holding on to the corpses of Luis Gonzalez, Nomar Garciaparra, and the out-making Juan Pierre.

Well Gonzo is now gone-zo, the only question is whether Colletti pulls in another retread to take his place. Nomar will have to beat out Laroche for 3B in spring training, and even if he does it'll only last until he makes his inevitable trip to the DL. That's assuming ARod is not signed, in which case all bets are off. Pierre we are stuck with for awhile, I'm afraid.

I guess we're going to see if Torre really is a great manager. Because, honestly, I could of led the Yankees through the mid-late 90s (And I was born in '92).

OK that might of been a bit of a stretch but, you get my point.

What's going to happen is that the Dodgers are going to get full or semi-full years from Matt Kemp, Andre Ethier, Chad Billingsley, Andy LaRoche, James Loney, and the rest of the plethora of young talent they have, and that's going to be the real reason they do good, but the credit will go to Joe Torre.

The batboy and the peanut vendor can take the credit for all I care, as long as the Dodgers let those kids play and WIN.

    Plethora

Don't you just love that word.

Anyways, I agree what you said. The Dodgers have a good young team if they're healthy.
