And he's likely to return to short too. Everyone's talking about him as a third baseman, but the fact is that he's an outstanding fielder. I'm sure that he would rather play shortstop again, rather than remain a third baseman.

I think there was too much focus on A-Rod and yes he was a fantastic hitter but just never seemed to fit in NY. I do think he will go back to short. Now it will be intersting to see what the Yanks do for sure.

the point now won't have to juggle lineup with A-rod gone.
The Yankees won't have trouble finding someone to play third base. But they surely will have trouble finding someone to replace the best hitter in the league.

And I see more lineup juggling without A-Rod. Why? Because with A-Rod, you knew everyday who your cleanup hitter was.

Yes the lineup will have to switch around a bit and they lost some power for sure but in the end this may be a good thing for the Yanks.

Yeah, they won't have to juggle their lineup by playing the best shortstop in baseball at third because the team captain in already at short and doesn't have the arm to move to thrid.

i think the yankees are saying they won't bid on A-rod just to try to keep his price down and then will try to snatch him up later for a discounted price of about 25 mill per...

I doubt it. They would be excoriated in the press for doing something like that. Their rhetoric over the last few weeks has pretty much boxed them in to not being able to make a deal for A-Rod, now.

I think the Yankees go after Mike Lowell. He's everything they (used to) look for in a player.
