I believe Texas has 20 mil to spend on a beer party.
Reports were that the Yankees were about to make him an offer. He just opted out now though, before the Yankees could make an offer.

Not untill what the other players might do?
I say The Yankees are a better team now they don't have an Albatross around their neck.
Can I be a Yankees fan now? Like Rudy is a fan of Boston?

I disagree. With the Yankees lineup, they've been darn close for the last couple of seasons. All that they really needed was more pitching. Now, they've lost Torre, their loosing A-rod, and their probably going to loose Rivera and Posada as well. The Yankees are going to have to start a rebuilding process now.

Now what happens when the primadona is out of the way and allow NY to play some of those Players they surly have collected along the way?

The rest of the Yankee lineup without the best hitter in the league.

Any Team - Best Hitter in the League != better team

They don't really have any near major-league ready non-pitcher prospects. They certainly don't have any near major-league ready third basemen who could replace A-Rod's production.

    Seems A-rod played SS/2nd while at Texas.Don't see why Yankees won't find a 3B.and Young played 1st too i think .,
the point now won't have to juggle lineup with A-rod gone.
