Making it (the... Showcase? forum) a sub-forum of General Discussions, rather than a main sub-forum off of Baseball Mogul is a good idea though.
Hows that for a name, btw? Baseball Mogul:General Discussions:Showcase

What can I say, he's learned from one of the best!

Yeah, I should've said that I think it should be a subforum rather than its own forum. And I think that the "showcases" name is great, and that it should be the subforum, not "general questions."

I think you guys are thinking a little too hard.
Yep, I'd just say the other way around. General Discussion is for anything about Baseball Mogul that doesn't fit into Bug Reports or Suggestions and AI, with a subforum called "Showcases" for all players, games, events, etc.

Nah, I would do it General Discussion and with General Questions as a subforum

Just curious as to why? The "general questions" make up the majority of the posts in General Discussions...and what do you do with the threads that aren't really "questions" but aren't "showcases" either? The main forum would have those and the "showcases" and questions would go in a subforum which just seems awkward to me.

because nobody would use a showcase forum. To show off they edited a player, that would be dave's favorite forum

The only pure way of doing it is by posting BMO players...not bm2k8 players.

Well, I don't think we have to make it "pure." People post both "pure" and "impure" "showcases" right now in General Discussions. This would just create a subforum where those posts would go, and keep the main forum for game issues that don't fit into the other forums.

People use General Discussions as a way to post "showcases" now so I don't see why they wouldn't use a subforum.

I think I got your point Houston. If you want we can debate this

or maybe what you think is always correct.

I'm just curious as to why you think it should be the other way around. It just doesn't make much sense to me. When you take the three main types of threads in General Discussions - "showcases", help questions, and general discussions on aspects of the game - the "showcases" seem like the odd-man out, so it'd seem strange to remove the help questions from the main forum, ya know? In addition, the "showcase" threads make up the lowest percentage of the threads, and the help questions make up the highest percentage, it seems strange to move the most common type of thread into a subforum, while leaving the least common type of thread in the main forum.

I have stated it above. I don't think people really will enjoy when they say,

Joe Blow hit 1200 homeruns, 5000 hits, 1000 doubles, and 1200 triples...he had a lifetime OPS of 2.000

Oh, yes he played from age 12-45.

That kind of stuff is what people will post. I think the intention is good, but we don't need to clean up the forum, heck we could just have all the moderators give up there moderator powers and the forums would be fine.

Well, I think it would help. It's fun to see the accomplishments people get, but their posts get buried by all of the repeated questions. Although, maybe you could add a sticky to the top. Like a FAQ.

Re: New Forum Suggestion - Split General Discussions Into Two

But... Some people do enjoy doing that now. HGM's suggestion just gives them a place to do it, is all.

As for the moderators comment, I doubt it. I've seen actual unmoderated forums before. Their quite often impossible to use.
The fact that there's a perception that the forums are taking care of themselves is certainly nice to hear though. I put quite a bit of effort into being as unobtrusive as possible. Thanks!

Actually, it might make more organizational sense to put the sub-forum in the Dynasties forum...

You're saying that like it's a bad thing.
