    "Moderated" threads

I've never actually used the approved/unapproved threads feature before, but I just saw that I somehow "unapproved" a thread rather than closing it. I didn't know that I could make specific threads moderated in otherwise unmoderated forums.

Pretty cool that we can though. That means that we can leave threads open more often, just set them to be "unapproved" (and therefore moderated).

For my fellow moderators: In order to make a thread moderated, select the thread in the forum view and use the moderator tool at the bottom to select "unapprove thread". Alternately, select the first post in the thread and use the mod tools to "unapprove post".

Keep in mind that any posts to those threads from that point on are only visible to moderators. In order to make a post visible to everyone, you must go through and approve posts.

Scratch the above. If the first post is moderated, the thread is basically deleted (to non-moderators). If the first post is approved, then the thread is visible, but the thread itself is no longer "moderated"...

Ohms from the subforum where all threads are seen. You can check the whole thread and moderate it.

I do suggest that we do moderate threads, if things get out of hand, moderate it, then after that, approve it.

Yea, this is a good deal after all. I don't know what I didn't think about that the other day... good thinking!

This was my first thought, but we can't do this because to normal users threads which are made to be "Moderated" do not show up at all. Therefore, to the normal users, it's as though the thread were simply deleted which ends up being worse then Closing them.

This also solves the forum you wanted for just moderators.
