Also, if you do PBP, the 10.31A patch will S L O W down gameplay big time. I simmed several seasons with it and didn't see that problem, but that doesn't mean much as it was rarely seen before I think. I think Clay's post hinted that he "thought" it was fixed with this release.
I have now finally seen this for the first time. It is version 10.31, NOT 10.31A. If it is in fact fixed in 10.31A, then hopefully they will either speed up the PBP engine or give the user the option to use the old engine, and I will wait until it becomes official to DL. In the meantime, on the off-chance it IS NOT fixed in 10.31A, I am posting several screen shots here to provide as much information as I can. Sorry, but I'm old school, and believe too much info is better than not enough. If any of this helps fix the problem, great. If not, oh well.
As you can see, a reliever was credited with a no-hitter in the transaction tab, and on his game log he was credited with a save. Pretty good considering according to the box score and recap he never appeared in the game. Anyway, I noted a couple of things in these screen shots and would like to point them out in case they are of any use to the programmers.
First of all, notice Claude Osteen's line in the boxscore. It shows he pitched 8 2/3 innings for the win. Hmm, where's the other 1/3 go then? Also, please note the blank line in the recap between the last two entries where the guy singled and then was picked off to end the game. I'm thinking this line is where Henry entered the game, and somehow this is where things go screwy. And finally, notice Henry's name does appear in the box score twice. Once in the lineup, and the second time for the save, though with the number (0) next to it.
I do hope this helps, as many of us would like to play long lasting dynasties with this game and not have our historical no-hitters cluttered with such nonsense. Thanks for any consideration in this matter.
Ok, so I stumbled across this really weird occurrence of a relief pitcher being credited with a no-hitter. The final score of the game was 4-2 and what's odd is that my team (the Indians) had only one pitcher of record who pitched all of 7.2 innings. Which means that there should have been at least 1 more out recorded somewhere. The game recap indicates that there was a 3rd out with Sheffield being caught stealing, but the out isn't recorded in any pitching line.
Now what's weird is that Cla Meredith never pitched in that game, so I can see, and yet if you look at the attached screenshot of his player profile, he's credited with a no-hitter. Not only was the game not even close to being a no-hitter on either side, but we lost.

Not really sure what to make of any of this but it's really weird. I've attached both the box score and the game recaps if those are of any help to people.
This was fixed in 10.31A.
Thread merged.
