Perhaps you should work on your communication skills before you go around flinging insults. I say you should, with a little effort, be on par with the average board member in a few years. Note that I am not the only one who has noticed your poor sentence construction, use of terms, and spelling. This is not a personal attack, but instead a friendly suggestion.

I made the "dense" comment prior to becoming a moderator. I'm not insulting anybody's intelligence. In fact, I made it clear that it seems to me as though it was just being done on purpose in an effort to frustrate me, not because whoever it may be is actually dense. I have met very few people on these boards that aren't intelligent.

I often do multiple things at once. I have a very busy life outside of the Internet, so I often have other things on my mind. Forgive me for not paying 100% perfect attention to my sentence construction.

And saying that it seems to me that people are just being dense on purpose is a farcry as an insult from the insults you've slung at me, as well as the bolded statement above.

I do, in fact, have fine communication skills, and fine writing skills. You don't go through high school on the honor roll by being an idiot. You don't get a job working at a lawyer's office if you have a lack of communication skills. You don't get into the highest level English class in college without knowledge of English. You don't get a full academic scholarship to college by being stupid.

Outside of my dense comment, I don't think I've insulted you, and the severity of saying I tihnk somebody's being dense on purpose is far less than the profanity-laced, degrading insults you've said to me.

And I know I've been extra...i don't know the word...lately. I've been going through a lot of stress and **** lately.

I don't harbor any ill will towards you, slowrx7, or anybody else I debate with. No matter how heated debates I participate in get, it isn't until I start getting insulted or degraded that I start getting extremely frustrated and might throw a slight insult back. No matter what, I try to keep insulting to a bare minimum, if at all, and any insults I do use, I make sure not to be too harsh, like calling someone a "****ing fruitcake."

I'm not saying it's a huge meaningful accomplishment. But if I really lacked the intelligence you seem to claim, I wouldn't be able to maintain a B+/A average throughout 4 years of high school, and I certainly wouldn't be able to get a full academic scholarship to college.

You are not a strong debater. You merely think you are, which is very dangerous. You assume you always 'win' the argument, and then get frustrated when people are not swayed to your opinion. That is when the insults come flying from you. People that disagree with you are not by nature stupid or dense.

The fact is your are a weak debater and rarely sway anyone. You are a loose cannon on these boards, as am I. The major difference is I admit it and try to take measures to control it. You embrace your 'loose cannoness'.

Some friendly advice - don't simply dismiss anything that cannot be mathematically explained. Who knows, maybe a future Bill James will be able to write a formula that expresses the value of intangibles. Perhaps better performance formulas will be created that don't have major flaws. I am quite positive that in the future sabermetrics will become a valuable tool, but at this time, the people at Baseball Prospectus are not skilled enough to create formulas without major conceptual flaws. You should, before taking their formulas as truth, use what is known as a 'sanity check' to make sure such formulas don't have flawed assumptions, such as 'luck factor' or assuming the pitcher BAA is a 0 value stat.

Think before you fling insults. Take the other opinions and play devils advocate. Until then, you will remain a very weak debater.

I get frustrated when words are put into my mouth. I get frustrated when people blatantly ignore FACTS, which are NOT my opinion. I get frustrated when I get insulted without provoking it.

Never said they were. In fact, I said that there aren't many people on these boards that I think are stupid. I don't think you are stupid. I don't think FRS is stupid. I don't think robin is stupid. The whole reason we're all here on these forums are due to a game which isn't for a stupid person, but rather something who enjoys thinking and dealing with challenges.
