Ignore is a useful function. However, I feel it should also not let me see when people quote someone I am ignoring.

It's always been that way. I don't know if the vBulletin people could even fix this if they wanted to, to be honest. However, they have their own forum (imagine that!) at: http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/
It'd probably be best to take up the issue with them, and then maybe they'll add something to censor quotes from people the current users ignore list or something.
You insist that there is something a machine cannot do. If you will tell me precisely what it is that a machine cannot do, then I can always make a machine which will do just that! -J. von Neumann
Thanks
Yeah, I know you can't see this, but that's impossible to do, as all a "quote" is is something put between the quote tags. Unless you use the actual quote button and link to a post, VBulletin has no idea where the quoted text came from.
what does it matter?? if you don't want to talk or interact with someone then just don't...*shrug*
Be more concerned with your character than your reputation, because your character is what you really are, while your reputation is merely what others think you are .
Because pretty much everything HGM says and the way he says it infuriates me, and I when I ignore a troll, I don't want to see ANYTHING from said troll.
lol, and i almost didn't come to this thread
Houston isn't a troll... He is very helpful on the boards especially to new users. I think the ignore feature is stupid. (can't we all get along) maybe some people take things so personal...and they can't think for themselves only to have a position that is opposite of there foe. That itself is retarted.
Yeah, I've disagreed with boomboom on issues as well, but he just responds and debates civilly without getting so worked up over it. There's no reason we can't disagree, debate back and forth, and not rip each others heads off. Having a different opinion and debating it doesn't make someone a troll.
Awesome use of pulling a quote that has no bearing on anything you said in order to merely try to tick off a member by a mod. Bravo. Helpful? Are you kidding yourself or me?
You put in a personal attack at the end of your little post that made well about as much literary sense as something HGM would post. Of course, the real answer to why HGM is a troll is in his personal attacks and arrogance, but hey, who cares about accuracy? Right?
Like I said earlier, before this genius posted, ignore is useful for diffusing situations, and all in all a great tool provided by people say, 10 to 12 times as smart as mr boomboom, and I feel he has no right to attack something merely because he doesn't understand it or its use. (Sort of like HGM.)
Take things personal? He called people densing and stupid and etc etc. Is there any other way to take it?
All in all, great job at aligning yourself with someone of the same calibre as yourself, and great attempt to troll. Your should be commended. Oh wait, no. You should be condemned.
Have a nice day.
And if the rumour that Houston GM somehow became a mod is true, well that makes about as much sense as tits on a boarhog. Seriously. The biggest nutcase and potty mouth (not to mention occassionally unintelligible) on the board being a moderator? Whoever made that call needs to lay off the drugs and reevaluate things when they sober up.
Oh, and if anyone is retarted (sic), it is because they have problems with there (sic) mind and body, and it should not be used as a putdown, boomboom. (Especially by someone who can barely use correct grammar better than my 5 year old son.)
Dense, yes. Stupid, no. When I have to repeat myself 10 times, and you still tell me I'm saying something that I'm not, that's being dense.Take things personal? He called people densing and stupid and etc etc. Is there any other way to take it?
You sure do a good job of keeping the personal insults flying though, now accusing Clay of doing drugs and insulting boomboom's intelligence.
I merely reported the fact of what he said - if he doesn't want to look like a *****, perhaps he should take better care before he posts.
And perhaps ohms was correct in another thread when he said perhaps the dense one is the one who can't properly communicate his thoughts to the board members and keeps getting 'misunderstood'. (Hey, ohms probably meant you!)
When I have to repeatedly say the same thing over and over again, something which is very simple and clear ("It is a fact that there is a high correlation every year, not that there is a perfect correlation.") and I still get told that somehow I'm contradicting myself with that one statement, I'm not the one being dense.
