10.28 Attendance Too High? [Fixed 11.04]

I jumped from 10.24 to 10.25C (XP SP2), at the 1999 ASB. Attendance figures jumped way up, and projected revenue increased for every team. Looking closer, I realized that every team was suddenly selling out. The numbers (there are less than 15 home teams, because some teams had an extra off day after the break, which is an entirely different issue):
    Code:
    TEAM 7/14/99 LHG* INCREASE
    ANA 45,050 45,050 0%
    BAL 48,262 48,262 0%
    BOS 34,218 34,218 0%
    CO 50,381 47,506 6%
    DET 52,806 45,989 15%
    KC 40,625 17,239 136%
    LAD 56,000 56,000 0%
    MIL 53,192 9,602 454%
    MN 55,883 23,174 141%
    MON 43,789 29,344 49%
    PHI 62,382 30,677 103%
    SEA 57,748 40,631 42%

    *LHG=Last Home Game
This isn't a one-day boost, as w/ Opening Day. I simmed another day, and every team appears to be selling out every game for the rest of the season. Check out the suddenly big-market Brewers (below). Playing on mogul difficulty, I have league revenue set at +20%, happiness effect on performance at +10%, and inflation at 25600; all other values are default. I did not change any values when I installed the new patch.

I thought that perhaps this bug is related to continuing from an earlier version (this game was carried over from 9.XX). I started a new game w/ default values on mogul difficulty in game year 1925. League attendance is averaging 87% (spreadsheet is attached).
    Code:
           Home
Team Dates Capacity	Avg	Total Cap	Total Att	% Cap
    BosN	7 40,000 23,476 280,000 164,332 59%

    PhiN	0 18,000 - - - 0%
    Pit	4 41,000 32,728 164,000 130,912 80%
    StlA	4 33,699 25,651 134,796 102,604 76%
    StlN	3 33,699 28,804 101,097 86,412 85%
    Was	3 32,000 32,000 96,000 96,000 100%
    				 1,868,390 1,618,567 87%
While I do not have 1925 data from earlier patch w/ which to compare this, the numbers do seem a little high.

    Re: 10.25C Attendance Too High?

I have the same problem on a game I carried over from BBM07. I think it was the 10.24 patch. Every team started selling out every game, and just about every player on every team had the "thumbs up" on their player card.

I reinstalled 10.24, and the attendance is working correctly, so this bug appears to have been added at some point in the 10.25 series. Since I skipped from 10.24 to 10.25C, I cannot say exactly when. However, it is still present in 10.25E.

In retrospect, I cannot tell if this bug affects games started in v. 10.XX. However, it does affect games imported from 9.XX, and may be related to the Cannot Import bug.

As the below screenshots show, it is still possible to set ticket prices such that teams do not always sell out. However, they are out-of-whack w/ the previous reality, and the AI teams do not adjust for the new reality. In game year 1999, w/ an inflation index of 25600, different ticket prices led to the following results:

    Code:
    Price Attendance
    $27.00 50,381 (sellout)
    ...
    $80.00 50,381
    $81.00 50,381
    $81.50 39,799
    $82.00 25,980
    $82.50 12,161
    $83.00 4,469
    $83.50 1,705
    $84.00 0
    $85.00 0
$3 between a sellout and no attendance is too small a range, especially when we consider that $3 is only 3.6% of $82.50 (equivalent to $1.20 between a sellout and no attendance under the previous league average ticket price of $32.90).

I can't reproduce this in games started with Version 10.00 or later, so I'm going to have to put this on the back burner until we fix the bug loading 9.XX saved games.

Neither could I. Just glad to know that it's on one of the burners.

Fixed! However, the attendance bug still exists in 10.25G.

At the risk of being confused w/ our favorite Australian and the Montreal Nationals issue, this bug still exists in 10.27 for games started prior to v.10.

Let me know if anyone wants to see my .mog. Likewise, let me know if you want me to just shut up already.

    Is:
being confused w/ our favorite Australian
    even possible, really?
