MY List of Suggestions

First off, Football Mogul is an awsome game, but like every game Ive ever played its not perfect and while I realize most of the things I am suggesting cant be done and would be asking alot I'll ask for a few anyway.

1) Coaches should be added. All 32 current along with 70+ Coordinators. This way there can be varying play books.
2) Varying playbooks
3) All Draft prospects should be in the draft, not just the top ones
4) Compensation picks in the draft
5) Better AI Draft picks
6) Better simulated stats, if someone is a #2 WR or RB no matter how good they are they hardly put up good stats. Also Ive had LB's like Ray Lewis put up 50-60 tackles.
7) NFL Eurupe maybe?

It's a great game, but here are some suggestions or tweaks.

1) Some sort of stat page to view your rosters stats. The way to do it now just isn't easy or quick enough.
2) A team needs page. Somewhere that is easy to see what your team needs going into the draft.
3) A way to keep your players in bounds. I've been up with 4 or 5 minutes to go, I'm trying to salt away the time, and I throw a short pass on 3rd and short, just to have my player pushed out of bounds. I'm not sure what effect this has on the clock, but you should be able to get your players to try and stay in bounds better.
4) Also, the one frustrating thing is calling the perfect play only to have a big play happen anyway. I know that big plays happen in real life even if they perfect defense is called, but this is a game. Just for instance, I called a goal line defense on 1st down, only to have the AI call a inside run and the guy broke off a 68 yard TD. This has happened too many times when I call a dime defense, which I have a A- for short and A for long, only to have the AI drop a 16-21 yarder on me. An a few times big 50+ TD's on me. Maybe add a few qb's throwing the ball away because there isn't a open receiver?
There are plenty of times that the wrong play is called where the AI can get big plays. It just seems like there really isn't any reason for the play calling. It's almost like the outcome is already determined. Like my running back with 91 running, I call a run inside with a FB lead blocker with 88 run blocking, the AI calls a PREVENT, 3 man front, D- against inside run, and my RB gets 1 yard. That would probably never happen.

Good game, just like to see some tweaks if possible.

These are all good suggestions. One thing though, I don't see a reason to add NFLE simply for the fact that the league disbanded it this year.

what about

1) Uniform Numbers
2) NFL_DATA Files (Yes these files contain historic NFL Player Data from 1920-2006, with alot of Jersey Numbers with face color that is the same as BIG_AL's one, so everytime you play a season from 1920 to 2006 it will load the season for you
3) College Football! - Sure it will consist of Players who are been to colleges before playing in the NFL Draft and it's a Database as #2.
4) Minor League Football (Option to place the other 80 players to a Minor League Team)

It would be cool if there was a College Football game that you could import players from, but i doubt clay's got that time.

Okay. I downloaded FM2K7. I played a few games with my favorite team, the Oakland Raiders. I simmed a couple and lost both. I played a couple and won both. It seems the AI is limited to the actual ability of the players, where I was able to be creative and call different sets opposite to what should be run in that situation. Overall, I think this game has potential.

FRONT PAGE SPORTS FOOTBALL - This program was the best football simulation package. First, you can create a game plan - what to do on 2nd & 7, what to do at 3 & Long, and adjust halftime plans according to score. Second, it had a ton of plays to choose from and you can create a game plan around them. I don't remember if every team had the same plays, but even then it was impossible to guess your opponents play correctly every time. Third, it had a great stats report system. Any stats I want to see, I can print them.

So here is my list as a tribute to FPS Football:

1. Preseason and Regular Season Schedule
2. Coaching ratings that affect player ratings - every coaching position that exists now.
3. A Playbook that characterizes the teams offensive and defensive goals
4. A game plan system that allows me to a)play as the head coach and make offense and defensive changes on the fly (within my chosen scheme for that opponent only - i.e. only able to choose plays that I have in my playbook for that game) or b)allow the CPU to execute my game plan according to settings set in my game plan file (similar to FPS). Or create a similar system that allows me to see the formations and plays and make choices including substitutions.
5. Package sets for in-game changes. Also include package sets for changing personnel during the game. All package sets are customizable.
6. Graphic view of the stadium and also a Flash and or DirectX view of the game while it is being played out. It doesn't have to be as detailed as Madden NFL, but it can be useful for head coaches to see how players line up and coverage schemes in action.
7. With Madden NFL getting exclusive rights to NFL and its players, how will FM2k8 deal with rosters? I never had any problem with fictitious players who resemble real ones.
8. Add a Mini-Camp to enhance the skills of my players. I would go for a randomization of who will improve, stay the same, or decrease. Add a IMP stat that will show the players ability to improve along with a Personality trait similar to Baseball Mogul to help.
9. Commentary - doesn't have to be John Madden, but any commentary and post-game wrap up would be nice. How about a local newspaper system to report on the teams progress and changes. It can also include positive and negative information about the team, players, and coaches which will affect the teams attitude, a players salary negotiation, and public perspective of the team.

Thats for starters and I can just see the mathematical calculator working overtime in Clay's mind.

My list of Ideas:

1. Have a record of Super Bowl winners and losers.

2. Expand the FA list so as said before guys dont just get deleted.

3. The retirement thing is a good idea too.

4. Ability to change 3-4 and 4-3 settings on offence.

5. Run to pass % for offence.

6. Incorperate News and Awards like the Baseball game.

More to come as I play it more.

Overall I enjoy this more than Madden as far as Franchise goes. Madden is my "one off" game vs friends.

Also, what's the deal with Madden getting a monopoly on player names?

is .17 patch availible? When I go to patch through the game it says .16 is the most current.

Am I missing something?
