    odds of game being finished?

I've been reading the bug reports, and it seems this game is pretty much unplayable right now. I have purchased several iterations of FOF, but my time is so limited now that it has become almost too extensive of a football game for me, so in looking for something simpler, yet fun, I was wondering if FM will ever be finished. Or, if this will be like several others of Clay's projects that just go unfinished as he turns his attention to another game, and then leaves that unfinished as he goes on to something else, etc etc, as the vicious cycle forever continues.

Whilst there are bugs i don't think it can be described as unplayable. I am well over 70 years simming now and enjoying it!
Of course it does depend on you - i can overlook bugs that exist and AI deficiencies and still enjoy it as it was meant to be enjoyed. If you require perfection then yes to you it may be unplayable.

I agree with Berzerkuk. I own three editions of this game and I think it has made some great strides (i.e. in the earlier version all the games were simmed). While I'll admit that some things are annoying (i.e. the scheduling for leagues having other than 32 teams), I think overall, this is the BEST football game I have played in years.

So keep up the good work and I look forward to purchasing Football Mogul 2008.

I just hope they fix a few bugs in the game yet. Like the game crashing when you try and made a trade during the draft, and those MAJOR type of problems.

I agree that the game HAS come a long way, but they need to fix the MAJOR problems that CRASH the game!

Yea, exactly. That's pretty much the definition of 'unplayable.'

no, it isn't unplayable. I can play the game perfectly. I can sim games just fine...so really it isn't unplayable.

There is the 30 day money back guarantee.

I guess it depends on your logic. To me, "unplayable" means a game that cannot be played. And when I read of a game crashing, I infer that I would get kicked out of said game. And when I am not IN the game, I assume that I cannot in fact PLAY the game - hence, unplayable...

    But maybe that's just me...

I'm tired of supporting Clay's unfinished, bug-ridden projects - I did that far too often with the BM series. So, as fair as a money back guarantee may be, I'd rather wait until the game seems playable, per my definition.

I think the point of the other posters is that for them the game is playable. We have fixed every crash bug that we were able to find on our own test machines. If the game crashes on your machine, you should be prompted to send a debug ('crash dump') file to us. Doing so will help us fix the problem.

Also, the 'Skincrafter' tool that we included in this version has caused some problems. There's some more info here and at www.skincrafter.com about DLLs that you may need to prevent these problems.

    Clay,

It seems that everyone who has this game, the game crashes when you are IN the draft and make a trade. I have tried on several different computers and it seems other posters have the same exact problem.

I have submitted the error about 25-30 times already myself. The game just crashes when you are in the College Draft and try to trade up, down, or any trade during the draft. The game then crashes.

Well, I'll tell you. Just bought this game at Best Buy, one hour and a half ago. Primarily because I had so much fun and have been impressed with Baseball Mogul. I saw the game there on the shelf and thought to myself. Why not.

I get home, load the game, it's a splash screen, where it says loading data, and that's all it does. There is a huge greenish colored opening screen and the words "loading data". I sat there for close to a half hour, and nothing changed, the game would not load, I was unable to get beyond this point, and it is very frustrating.

Is there a patch available? I mean right out of the box, and it doesn't even work.

I am running Windows Vista, 4GB Ram with the latest processors. I realize this is a small company, limited manpower/resources, but for Christ's sake, somebody be reasonable.

If there was a disclaimer that the game would not run on certain systems. For examples, WINDOWS - VISTA. then I can understand. But there is no such disclaimer. Right at this moment. I'm searching for a patch at this time.

The game is presently unplayable. I don't want to jump the gun, but my initial response is anger, frustration, and helplessness.

I'm going to find out what type of technical support Clay and his fellow partners have. After reading the message boards it doesn't look too promising, but I am an eternal optimist, and trying not to let an annoyance like this get me down.

If Lady Luck was a Whore, I'd be fresh out of cash.
Meanwhile, does anyone know anything about a patch?

I don't think it's a matter or like / dislike for a lot of us that have complaints. I think it is rather we were promised a realistic simulation game and got the most unrealistic football game since NES Techmo Super Bowl. This is probably the worst version of Football Mogul that was ever released in terms of accuracy. But I didn't play the 2005 version that flopped hard.

I'm guessing that most people who like the game are casual/unInformed football fans. I can understand how a casual fan might enjoy it. But I don't think that was the intended target. I can't see any hardcore fan really enjoying this game. The problems are too numerous to list and their is much more competion in the football genre. I just hate how the game was released then only half-assed supported. Then when people complain the moderators scream "Small Company", "Small Company" & "The game costs &20 other games cost more". blah,Blah. Pathetic excuses. I bought the game was extremly disappointed,, waited because patches were promised never happened. Don't make a game if your not going to support it. I don't care how small the company is.
