    Suggestion

Whats stopping us from starting pitchers that are tired. I can normally get a decent start out of a pitcher even if there are tired for up to 3 days. I think that the ratings should go down when the player is tired. For example when the player will be tired for the next three days his rating should go down dramatically.

Maybe a "stamina" rating needs to be introduced, which indicates how many points out of the overall a player is at. For instance, if a relief pitcher with an overall of 88 has pitched three consecutive days his stamina would go from 88 to, say, 60. It would take 2 or 3 days off to go back to 88. For certain position players, like catchers and older IF/OF, a stamina rating would make sense, too, esp. late in the season. (DHs should never have their stamina decrease, tho.)

    Re: Suggestion

A "stamina" rating already sort of exists with "Health" but the effect is not that dramatic, and there's no way to tell except for pitchers if a guy needs rest.

I'd like to see a "stamina" rating though, as well. Here's my idea for it, that I was thinking about today on the way to work:

Every player has a stamina rating on their scouting report, that's set to 100% at the beginning of a season. For position players, this rating will decrease as they play more often. Guys with high health will have a slower decrease than guys with low health. This percentage represents how well a player will play. At 50%, he'll perform half as good as he usually does. At 100%, he'll play at his full capacity. At 0%, he'd be unable to play until he rests. The rate at which a player recovers his stamina on an off-day also would depend on his health rating. The position a player plays would also have to be taken into account. A catcher's stamina would drop faster than a first basemen's. The DH's stamina would drop the slowest.

This would help give you a judge of when you need to rest a player, and while simming, the computer should use it as a sign as to when to rest a guy.

As for pitchers, the rating would drop dramatically after he throws a lot of pitches. A starter who throws a complete game might have it drop to 0%, and slowly regain it during the next 5 days. A reliever with a 19 endurance might see it start to drop significantly once he reachs 30 pitches or so.

    Get what I'm saying?

Cool idea you could also link in a return from major injury (a 15 day DL type/in Mogul 30 days+) percentage drop off. I mean whereby they have 'rebuild' stamina in the minors for X number of days AFTER the injury is officially finished. Basically like a minor league rehab

Yeah, that should eventually be added, but the stamina should be added alone first like I outlined above, so we have time to test it and all.

Nothing is stopping us. I pitched Kazmir for 25 strait days complete games. Even if it ment 250 pitches. It was crazy!!!

Ohm ,I read the thread, it talked about stamina in a game (really it was pitch count analysis) what I think the point Houston is trying to make is more of recovery of health/drainage overtime.

Like how pitchers' on short rest underperform or why there are no Ripkens' around. He wants to impliment a system of forced rest due to overuse.
