In game, I have access to my minor-leaguers, while both hitting and pitching (see attachment). I can use them to PH or pitch while in PBP, although I do not have access to them as defensive replacements. When I run a season sim (i.e., non-PBP, I haven't noticed and minor-league hitters being used, but AAA pitchers show up in box scores frequently. I sim one day at a time, so I know that this has nothing to do w/ injury issues (unless I'm suddenly getting an awful lot of one-day injuries to my pitching staff).
This bug appears to coincide w/ 9.08, since I didn't see it on 9.07 or earlier. I can also only make it appear in games ported from 2K6 -- games that I started on 2K7 don't have it. It reminds me of the old (like 8.03 and earlier) bug in which the AI would start using AAA pitchers in a game when your bullpen was used up.
Oh, and despite my recent bug reports, thank you, Clay. 2K6 was a huge jump forward, and so is 2K7.
When Tim Wakefield finally stops pitching, I'll have to admit my own mortality.
Double check your dates sir.... You are in september, rosters expand to 40 men then... Just a possibility i wanted to check on... if its all year then yes it is a bug

Ugh. That's what I get for playing until half past midnight and then posting in the morning, pre-caffeine.
The expanded lineups option occurred to me on my drive to work this morning. I haven't seen them on earlier versions, and I didn't see anything in the Help about them in 2K7.
Turns out that I was confusing saved games on the defense "bug," so there is no bug.

I don't see anything in the lineup dialog, and the only indication in PBP is that I have nine more hitters and six more pitchers. What does the designation look like?

If you cant sub them in as defensive replacemnets, thats a bug.

Agreed on both counts.
Also there WAS a bug before 9.07 where you had expanded rosters in the PLAYOFFS. That should now be fixed, but it's another possible cause for confusion.
