Fully understand how to manually fix this. It should however be fixed in the game code. This has only cropped up in the current iteration of BBM.

Re: 22.06 Drafted players receive huge salaries

I have been playing BM for years and this is the first time I have ever seen this happen. Hard to play a dynasty when your first draft causes bankruptcy.

Still having the problem. Tried a 1968 Tigers franchise. Went to the 1st draft and my top choice was signed for $500,000 for one year which more than doubled the team payroll. 22.08

22.08. Tried again with new version. 1954 Indians. Played until draft. All draftees signed to one year contracts at high salaries instead of monor league contracts.

22.06 Drafted players receive huge salaries

I tried to start a Cleveland dynasty in 1954. I drafted six players in June. By the end of July, I was bankrupt. I went in and checked. All of the players that I drafted were making $100,000 to...

    Re: crazy stats

I have been running a dynasty from 1950. Among other statistical anomalies, around 1960 there was a home run explosion with several players hitting 60-plus homers a year.
  10. Unrealistic stats for Eddie Gaedel [v21.04]

I began a dynasty in 1950 on 21.04. After simming for three years, I did took a look at the other computer players in the league to see what their rosters were. I noticed that Eddie Gaedel had a...

    AI crazy about substitutions

When the DH is in force, the AI seems to ignore the DH when substituting for a player injured out for a couple of days or resting.

    V20.16: Scouting reports

While not a "show stopper" for me, I just ran through my starting eight position players during an off-season. Four of them played 162 games and each of their scouting reports touted their "value"...

    Re: I'm Sorry (40-Man Rosters)

Maybe don't sweat the small stuff. Just to a simplified 40 man roster where teams can only protect so much of their talent from a draft. Trying to track and compute service time day by day might be...

    Career Patterns

There are a lot of veteran players (to include future hall-of-famers) who seem to be willing to sign on with a team and play in the minors for a couple of years at the end of their careers and even...

Re: Sign and Release Rears Its Ugly Head Again

AI programming is a bunch of rules to guide the computer into making "smart" decisions. The current AI rules seem to be:

Re: Sign and Release Rears Its Ugly Head Again

The rules don't exist in real life, but a team signing and releasing the same guy several times in the off-season (and eating his contract each time) wouldn't happen and is unrealistic in the game. ...

Re: Sign and Release Rears Its Ugly Head Again

    I have seen it in 2007, 2011, and 2015.

A suggested fix would be just to make AI rules that dictate:

    1. Players signed during the off-season cannot be released till end of spring training...

I just began another game starting in 1954. Once again, 1961 came, the AL expanded to ten teams, and only played a 154 game season. 1962 came, two teams added to NL, and both leagues went to 162...
