How Did You Hear About Baseball Mogul?
I asked this a while back, but I can't find my old poll.
Anyway, we've been doing some different things recently, from posting at TopWebGames.com (for BMO) to buying ad space in Sports Weekly and the Chicago Sports Review.
Curious how effective any of these have been.
Re: How Did You Hear About Baseball Mogul?
I heard about it first a LONG time ago in a PC Gamer review. As soon as I read the review, I went straight out and bought the game that week. I believe that I have only missed buying one version since that time.

None of the above. I heard about it at Nick Keren's Ultimate Utilities for Tony LaRussa Baseball, a site that I had been visitng frequently at the time.

I don't remember. Maybe gamespot or something, I found a demo of 99 and got hooked, bought 2000... bought every one since then. I've given clay $150 or so I'd guess.

Funniest part is that each version doesnt even compare to the fun and the addictiviness of Baseball Mogul Online...
Re: How Did You Hear About Baseball Mogul?
I found Baseball Mogul by "accident". I was using Kazaa and I was trying to find Hollywood Mogul or something to that effect. Well Next up comes Baseball Mogul not sure which version it was, but I downloaded anyways. It was an instant hit in my book. I believe that was in early-mid 2001 and it took me a year to find the website that went along with the game. After I found it in June of 2002 I've bought the last two or three versions. I am Really glad I found this game. Thanks for Making it Clay & Co. :D :D :D :D :D :D

I was earching for a baseball manger game of any kind. I stumbled across a great find.
Re: How Did You Hear About Baseball Mogul?
I was looking for a baseball game on download.com and just came across this. I actually tries the OOTP demo first but it was hard to read and really slow so I didn;t want it.

Re: How Did You Hear About Baseball Mogul?
Some guy was advertising a mogul league he was going to run on Showdowncards.com
I joined an OOTP league at the same time, which was harder, more confusing, and quickly died. I loved mogul though, and have been playing in leagues since.

As part of this game. I loved this one. Too bad Microsoft quit the baseball market the following year.

Here's one of the box cover.
Re: How Did You Hear About Baseball Mogul?
Found it pretty much by accident. I was doing some shopping (Radio Shack in Canada) looking for OOTP and I found this game in the bargain bin and I've been hooked ever since.

So this is basically proof that some amount of piracy is GOOD for Sports Mogul. Get some free older versions out there on file sharing systems, and they act just like the demo -- getting people to try the game and then buy the next version.
(This is basically why we've stopped using e-licensing -- because I f***ing HATE IT)
When I was 12, I copied games from friends. Five years later, I was buying them. It's the Circle of Life.
