Trade Rumor Thread

• Red Sox and Braves are moving closer to the Renteria/Marte swap, with Sox likely to pick up some of the salary.
• Jays will trade Shea Hillenbrand and David Bush to the Brewers for Lyle Overbay. Milwaukee will then turn around and trade Hillenbrand elsewhere. The Jays are right to cash in Hillenbrand, but getting Overbay does nothing to solve their infield logjam.
• There was discussion of a trade that would have sent Manny to the Dodgers, Bobby Abreu and J.D. Drew to the Sox, and Derek Lowe and Trot Nixon to the Phillies, but it's been killed. Abreu & Drew would have been an upgrade over Manny & Trot, IMHO, and actually slightly cheaper for next year. But Drew has had injury problems. Then again, so has Trot.

Jays actually traded Gabe Gross, Dave Bush and Zach Jackson for Overbay and a prospect about an hour ago.

Boston has, according to WEEI in Boston, formally offered Manny Ramirez to Baltimore for Miguel Tejada.

Blue Jays are really close to trading Miguel Batista and Orlando Hudson to the D-Backs for Troy Glaus and another player....according to numerous sources including Peter Gammons from espn.

This will be apparently made official on Monday or Tuesday once physicals are passed. The Jays will reportedly get Sergio Santos as the 'other player' in the deal....which could be a great pickup....he usually turns out great in Mogul. ;) Not a bad lineup the Jays will have:
