Scoring Errors: Losses

Using 8.28, when the go-ahead run is scored against the bullpen, the scorer seems to get confused over who earns the loss -- the pitcher who put the scoring runner on base, or the pitcher who was on the mound when that runner scored. Roger McHomerun should have gotten the loss in this one, not Kerfeld.

I wonder if the run scoring on a fielding error had something to do with the erroneous loss.

No, this is a problem wether there are errors or not.

I think this is fixed, for both WINS and LOSSES, in 8.30 (going up shortly).

Using 8.31, Pedro Borbon certainly deserved the loss, but this one should have gone to Mike Stanton, who put the eventual winning run on base.

In addition, once the winning run scored, the game should have ended, but apparently, Jake Daugherty just kept running. Perhaps the umpires didn't want to make him feel like his run wasn't important? :confused:
