Ive had some guys become "once in a lifetime players" but they were allready established, for example I had a game where A-Rod ended up with over 1000 HR's and Manny had something like 960. It seems to me that earlier versions produced more of these types especially pitchers than BBM2K6 does.

Tyler Cherry, though he is entirely fictional, is the best player I have ever produced. I did not build a pitcher friendly stadium for him, nor did I pick up the best free agents every year. I swear on anything that I can, I-DID-NOT-CHEAT. In all the years I have played this game, I have never had anybody beat Cy Young's win's record, except for Cherry. I am currently playing with Roger Clemens, had him since the start of his career, and at the age of 38 he is still over 100 wins away from tying the record.
The game is fantastic, because there are so rarely players like this. And to boot, Cherry played on a team with 5 strong starters his whole career, and at no point did he start more than his share of games (33). For the first 6-7 years he was not even the staff ace.
I do not know why some players take it upon themselves to doubt the accomplishments of this aspect of the game to reduce the number of once-in-a-life-time players to actually once-in-a-life-time. I doubt I will ever see or have another player like this again, and that makes me happier, because I see that as a quality of the game, not a detractor.
Not doubting the accomplishments at all. Even without cheating it is entirely possible to build a team that wins 120-140 games a season, which tends to heavily inflate numbers, particularly human owned starting pitchers win totals.Quote:

I was able to mitigate that by creating some of those stat settings for seasons post 2005. I t helps alot, but if you have keep making them (just save a file you like over and over again... that's the easiest way.Quote:

I have done it I have gotten a player to play past 45 years of age. Granted he is utterly useless but what do I care he is 46 now and has over 5000 strikeouts. :)

Holy smokes... 1-60 his last 3 years. Why Nolan, why?
So I thought he might do better as a closer I was about 25% right and about 80% wrong :) but for some reason he kept on ticking but now he is done and I think the extra years hurt his HOF bid as he only got 79%
Of course IRL he was 30-25 in 90 thru 92 (13-9, 12-6, 5-9) with good ERAs for his league (3.44, 2.91, 3.72) and struck out 575 batters in 534 innings (with 215 walks).Quote:
