What do you think of alex rodriguez play after stienbrenner commeted on the yankees play?? Do you think he can keep hitting home runs like he is now. He is currently tied for the major leagues in homeruns with 9.

I don't think he can and I don't think he should, because baseball is a team sport so the others need to kick in or they wont make the playoffs imho. I mean the yankees are over paid so you'd expect them to do better.Quote:

I agree that the yankees are overpaided and should perform better but i think alex can keep hitting... He hit 57 homers like 3 years ago and i finally think hes settling into the yankees uniform and i think he can continue to put up the numbers that he put up while he was in Texas.Quote:

If Alex gets hurt I don't think the yanks will have an answer for the lose of runs and run support. Heck they don't even have the pitching they thought that they would have, but then again that's what you get when your pitching staff average age is like 38.
35 actually but that still totally kills the MLB average.
They have several future hall of famers on the pitching staff, but all of them are aged now like mariona rivera, mike mussiana, randy johnson, and the latest report by espn is that the yankees are interested in picking up roger clemens. The only reason why the deal may not go through is because roger clemens who already as a base-salary of 18 million gets an extra 3 million if he gets traded.
Clemens draws way too many fans to be traded. Maybe he'll go If he drops his trade clause but I don't think the 'Stros want to pay his salary if he goes and I don't think anyone will want to pay him that much money somewhere else.
i dont have the data in front of me, I do believe that Texas is more of a hitters park than the yankees.
I am sure if the yankees are on the verge of not making the playoffs, stienbrenner will pull out his checkbook and somehow find a deal to work out with the stro's so that clemens can come, cause frankly the yankees have not played like a playoff team.Quote:

Redsox will win the division and the yankees will come in third behind the orioles.
Man I would love to see Steinbrenner's face now that they are tied for third place with the rays. lol
LOL i would not wanna be on the yankees now.Quote:

you're right, the yankee club house is probably a scary place to be right now. I think the O's could win the AL East. everyone underestimated them from the start. They could run away with it if everyone on the team keeps playing like they are right now.
I you kidding... They cannot compete with the Redsox. THey will be lucky if they come in second.Quote:

The Red Sox are really overrated. Wells was pitching badly before he got hurt, and so was Schilling. Even if they get those two back the pitching staff is still a question mark because of Wells' constant injuries. Also, Foulke has not been himself this year, and past him the bullpen isn't very good.
I don't see how you can have a team (orioles) that hasn't gone to the playoffs in several years to win the division over the former champs. I admit boston is overated and baltimore is really good but not good enough yet...
