It also might be nice to have a lost of what a free agent is looking for in a team i.e. a starter wanting better relievers or an infielder who wants to play in a park with tall grass.
how about scouts that gives you reports from high schools colleges and other countries players for the draft and free agents.also stats from other countries too too determine if you wanna try too take them away from their teams or see how they did on their team.
Something that I just randomly thought of which might be kind of dumb but might be interesting is, when offering trades in 2k6 the AI will tell you if he thinks it's a great offer or a stupid one...well when the AI offers trades to you, it would be cool to type in a response in which will then affect the relationship between you and the GM of that team, preventing future deals to be made with that team in the near future. Say, typing in a response like "Stupid idea IDIOT!" could hinder things. Eh whatever!
How would FA bidding work? Every team puts in a bid and you can beat it and get the player? Or will it work in weeks.. like teams
It'd work like it does in real life. Each team can offer a player a contract, and the player mulls it over and signs with a team. CUrrently, the player in BBM can automatically sign any player as long as he's willing to pay the asking price. No competition, never turned down.
Are these going to be in the final versio?
Manager/coaches
3 way trades
injured but plays
more revenure ops
backloaded contracts
has an exact date been announced for when Baseball Mogul 2007 is released?
The only official date announced is "March 2006".
The first day of Spring is looking to be pretty close.
Clay
darn..I was hoping it would be released today! I'm itching to play it. this will be the 4th year in a row ive purchased baseball mogul and it gets better each year!
how much will Baseball Mogul 2007 cost? or should I say, when will the price be announced. I'm itchy to play!
Wow. If all of those features could be added into the game I would have absolutely nothing to live for because I'd have nothing to complain about.
Top features I think should be added:
Waiver Wire
Manajer Singings/Firings
But I think the most important thing of all is No Immediate Free Agent signinggs. And they shouldnt always sign with whoever offers them the most money, their should be factors like hometown, etc. Mogul would be an improved and much more challenging game if I couldnt just sign every chap in the neighborhood.
i don't think i seen it on here and maybe too late this year too add it but how about voting for the hall of fame instead of the computer automaticly putting them in.i think it would be cool too vote or deny a player on how you feel about their career specially if rumors about drugs gambling steroids and all.
The new Out of the Park Basebell version 7 will have all these features!
Hey, I have been a fan of the previous versions, and want to say that I appreciate how much Clay updates his game to fix bugs and corrections. I think a lot of people have become spoiled by this, as with your major companies like EA or Take 2 it will take them months to work on an update. I will wait until the first patch comes out to purchase the game, but regarding the features listed in the poll, I believe they all should be included in this version, or at the very least next year's. Unfortunately, because the game is so good, you have to try and keep pushing that bar up, or people might convert to OOTP users. I applaud your work Clay and wish you the best of luck!

While I am just fooling w/ you, do try to support a general comment like that with some details- especially for those of us that haven't used OOTP before
I don't know a lot about the new OOTP, mostly because it isn't out yet. But unless anything has changed from the last time I saw a feature list, there are at least 15 items in the poll that won't be in the new OOTP. (Of course it's possible that my definition of a feature is different from yours, but I do know for example that they are cutting back on a lot of financial features this year in favor of rebuilding the game from scratch).Quote:

So, how many of these are being implemented in BM 2007?Quote:

Its in the League Leaders, just not shown in the Scouting Rreport.Quote:

Similar options could be for players that hit really well, but play poor defense.
In other words, the ability to designate bench players to specific roles late in games.
I second that.Quote:

I'd like to to have more control of when players are rested and try to avoid players with low health ratings getting overplayed. With the pitchers you can see how many days rest they need beofre playing again but apart from the health rating I can't see any way of knowing when other players in the lineup might need a rest. Perhaps an option could be added where a pop up window could come up saying a player is tired and needs so many days rest. If you ignore it and keep making him play then his chances of injury could increase.
I like how you can adjust the strategies for your team but it would be good if you could set individual strategies for certain players such as setting speedy players to steal bases more often.
Little idea: When you offer a trade to a computer player, put a delay of a few days before they respond. Maybe this could be only on "mogul" difficulty. And for sure it should be this way on bbmo!
Sortable High School and College stats when I'm trying to decide who to draft would be clutch. Since I'm a Moneyball fan I would of course be favoring older players and high oba or a lot of walks.
Oh and of course what I always ask for in GM sims but is probably impossible-- customizable stats. I'd be searching the draft picks for the highest oba minus avg. And I'd just have so much fun making my own weird stats. I could create my own win shares, or runs created...
Songsdream,
Doesn't this presuppose that the high school and college stats are a good predictor of future performance?
In my experience, this is not the case.
What does everyone else think?
I don't think they're necessarily a GOOD predictor, but they can help. It shouldnt be a high priority, but why not?Quote:

I Really would like to be able to view your last At bats...And seeing you carrer against that pitcher and stuff along those lines...
3 way trades and a rule 5 draft would be nice
Another suggestion...
I'd like the ability to save the window sizes/window position, I find that I constant have to change the window sizes everytime I start up the program. If the program would remember the window sizes and position, I think this would be a nice feature.
Another new feature I'd like is to have career post season numbers--not just individual seasons, but add up the career totals.
I'm sure this has been mentioned before, but it'd be really cool if, in addition to adding managers and coaches, players could become coaches after they retire. That'd be awesome I think.
Also, here's another suggestion: With the overall/peak ratings added to the roster viewing, it's harder to notice the injuries to players. It'd be nice if the text for injuries was red or something so it stands out more.
I concur, that would be awesome. Maybe there's some way to write code so that players have a whole lifespan in the game, from player to coach to manager to death, and maybe have a random number of them with kids who go on to become players, like the Boone family. Like, a backup catcher like Mike Redmond may be a mediocre player, but he could be a fine manager sometime in the future, and that would be incredible to see in the game. Players with higher ratings in certain areas would be more likely to become coaches, etc.Quote:

Something I would like to see is umpire stats that have an effect on a game. I've seen they track R/G, BB/G, K/G for umpires. Just think it would add a nice touch.
40 man roster would be amazing.......players in the minors have 4 "free" years on the minor league roster b4 the MLB team has to choose to keep them on the 40 man roster or expose them to the rule V draft....the ONE thing i think would be most important though: somehow fix the AI so that they dont sign really good players and then put them in the minor leagues.....i hate having to go to the commissioner mode and going thru the teams to put their best team on the field......
