What I know about soccer: (1) I played it in elementary and middle school gym classes by force. (2) The kids who were not skilled enough to play baseball or big enough to play American football played it. (3) My 7 year old daughter plays it well (so her coach tells me) and so did Rod Stewart  (4) It looks like hockey without ice. (5) It looks like hockey without the beer. (5) No one is in the stadium during the MLS games. (6) It looks like hockey without all the fighting  . (2) What the H#ll is a striker anyways?Quote:

Given that 98+% on leftcoast US (nor the right coast US for that matter..) had nary a scooby on what any of that blather meant, they probably are still trying to envisage why someone would recommend an unlikely cross-sport match.
Cheers

(p.s. astounding what a yankee can pick up in several trips to Glasgow and regular listening to Ruffy on Real radio Football phone in knowing bugger all about this classic rivalry not too long back...)
Well now that is different. I understand now. Soccer, over there, Celtic vs. Rangers. I have heard of a soccer team with that name but the N.Y. Rangers is the one that comes to mind first. Never heard of another franchise called the Celtics though. However I would still pay big for the NFL/MLS matchup. :D
Clay's right - no point in Mogul jumping into this market. Championship Manager is hands-down the best sports management sim I've ever played (at least the 01-02 version). No minors per se, but you have a reserve squad for youth players, and lower-league teams essentially perform the same task as minor-league squads in BBM. CM is incredibly detailed, and might be a bit daunting for someone unfamiliar with the game, but the depth of the gameplay is stunning and worth it.Quote:

MLS had better attendance than Hockey last season. ;)
My daughter's school play had better attendance than Hockey last season. :eek:Quote:

If you really do your homework for hockey mogul and combine it with what youve already done with baseball mogul you could have a good competitor with EHM in the ever growing population of hockey fans. (Highest Attendence for the month of November in 10 years this year)
Your MOM had better attendance last night.Quote:

There is such a thing as too much. It's like BM vs OOTP....
Now the other notion much like basketball is the lack of a database... now EA NHL uses a mog file, which is editable with NHL View program, so perhaps could use that mog file as a db making current rosters as available as the online EA Hockey persons put them out... there's a few sites too so plenty of rosters available. Not only that but there's also rosters made for international, CHL, AHL etc.
I'd not buy a basketball game as don't like basketball but thinking basketball and hockey would do quite well.... after that the sports get very niche market or I'd say Lacross too but...
Honestly could see the baseball mogul engine modified to hockey... similar interface really with ability to hire/fire coaches, set lineups, perhaps set up the minors slightly different but similar.... drafting is there as is schedule and set ups for conference and division ( it's similar to what we already have in baseball ) and of course minor tweaks to building arenas instead of diamonds, and of course there's the newspaper too!! Modify it to be say... Hockey News Digest or something cool like that and it would work...
I'd vote for hockey over basketball but only because my interests would go in that direction.
