Hmm...Basketball...Hockey....the telephone....electric light bulb.....heart pacemakers....discoverd insulin could treat diabetes.....just to name a few great things....oh and Pam Anderson....another couple of great things!
You can't forget Jones Soda! But perhaps you guys don't know about that...I do because I live right on the border...I could swim there!..but then i'd come out a certain shade of green (gotta love the Detroit River)

Jones soda? I thought they made that in stuff Shiller Park Illinois.
It was originally bottled and manufacted in Canada.
I did some looking up after i posted and found all of the history. I love that stuff but i have to go to either Shiller Park or Fanklin Park to get it cause most places by me don't have it. I thought it was local cause i'd only seen it there. I love that stuff.
It's everywhere here! But I guess every area has it's own stuff. There is probably similar things all over the country. Many people assing and taking away things and seeing how it tastes...it wasn't too bright of Jones to make a Turkey and Gravy Jones Soda a few years ago around Thanksgiving...that stuff was nasty. :D

man i love jones soda, its the greatest stuff on earth. they have it in WA too.
Dont forget the hockey players from canada, wayne gretzky and bobby orr, to name the greats. but who really cares about hockey anyways(sorry NHL fans). honestly im canadian and i didnt even care about the NHL lockout. i never paid attention to the NHL and it being gone made more room for baseball, football, and basketball on sportscenter.

I love no hockey!!!! It is a waste of sportscenter time and i have to agree sportscenter is way better when it is covering only baseball, basketball, and football. You can't even see the puck.
hahaha those hockey highlights were the biggest waste of time EVER! like rolls said, you cant even see the puck so i used to squint to try and see then eventually gave up. it also used to suck when ESPN would be filled with hockey games for the night or the NHL playoffs. I dont even know who the NHL champion was last year. ESPN is so much better off with no hockey!!!
I guess we know where the Hockey Mogul concept is going then. Hockey hasn;t been a big sport in the US (at least as compared to the rest of the world) for a while and I don't think It ever could be again. The hardcore fans really love it but they have been getting fewer and fewer with this only being made worse by the combination of: no good hockey movies for a while (butkus to Miracle), Teams Blacking out homegames, and the worldview of the sport itself( i.e. many European players playing here and many of the best Americans/Canadiens playing in Europe)
at least the NHL can claim it had better ratings than Major League Soccer. now there is a sport that is completley ignored in the US(even though a lot of people play it). at least when the NHL was going it had a place on sportscenter, i have only seen two MLS highlights on sc and one was a top ten play, the score wasnt even said. everyone said Freddy Adu was going to revamp soccer in the US, i guess that really worked.;)
Hockey is a fun sport to watch, Kind of funny, I know nothing about the sport, yet I have been to two (Seattle) THunderbird games....and never a Sonic game. Thou, I watch basketball on TV a lot more than other sports (Besides baseball of course)...
man you have never been to a sonics game. you have to go one of these days.
and i went to a thunderbird game once. hated it! boring(unless there is a fight) and its freezing cold inside the arena. you have to wear a winter coat the whole time.
i think its funny that people watch hockey to see fights and watch nascar to see crashes. its like we want to see people get hurt.
maybe If there are any playoffs tickets left, I will buy one....

Too many teams in places where they can't grow thier own ice is killing the game and they should stop with the kinder gentler bullcr@p. No one wants to see a bunch of friendly hockey players. Stop stopping play for so many stupid calls too, it's too da mn slow now. They should just call it golf and be done with it!
