Coaches

One Important Thing This Game Is Missing....

The capabitility to hire coaches. In another thread there were ideas of being able to choose if you are a passing or running team, choosing who plays when, and more....But if we could hire a coach, he could take care of all that.

He could and would be just like a regular player with ratings of his coaching ability.

Offensive Mind: x
Running: x
Passing: x
Defense Mind: x
Knowledge: x
Respect: x

Then an extensive scouting report!

Just an idea I think would be awesome.

Remember this is only the second release of Football Mogul, so it still is a far cry from being fully developed (even Baseball Mogul, which has been worked on for almost a decade, is still not done and we always are adding new feautres and fixing bugs).

I would like to apologize for the misunderstanding. I LOVE the game. I simply meant that there were very few changes from the first game to this one and the one thing I love is to draft players and the draft engine has problems. There arn't enough stat options, no ability to play the game, no abilty to change the run pass mix. It's easy to sit here and say that this is wrong and so is that. All I'm saying is that right now you guys are losing the sports gamers. If you released updates from time to time on when patches are going to be released. The biggest thing wrong with the game are a few stat problems and if you need help my father is an EXPERT programmer and for the right price he would be willing to help out.

I like this person's system. I think these are great ratings. Personally I'd like to have a head coach, offensive coordinator and a defensive coordinator. Those stats above would probably go with the coordinators while the head coach would have ratings dealing with motivating the team.

It'd be cool to have some headcoaches good with young players, som good with Vets and maybe some, the really great coaches, good with both.

I think this would add a lot to the game and these coaches could be important in developing the players you have. It would create more of a variable. I just *HOPE* that the programmers read these posts and consider it for a future update.

Overall though, I think that the Head coach should be the guy who determines the personality of the team....I.E. running powerhouse, or westcoast offense. Maybe the coordinators would determine the success of the plays or the creativity.

Hmm!

I like that idea. It seems that my team's relying more heavily on my RBs to win games.

I wish there was a way to determine the 'style' a team plays, at the least. I've been drafting QBs that should put up awesome numbers, but suddenly, they're beginning to end up having Brad Johnson style of play!

Yeah, coaches would be a good addition to both this and BBM.

And every year have a few new coaches come up from college and very rarely High School (lol...kinda like a Coach Draft).

I know what you mean. I'll have two 1,100 yard rushers on my team, but then my quarterback will have played like Akili Smith despite Brett Favre-ish ratings...

I really like the coaches idea, though. Instead of simply determining a team's style, adding coaches provides another dimension for a player to think about...
