I think the Tigers go after Madson instead of Soriano, just for the fact that they have in-house minor league guys they are excited about for the future closer role. Also Madson is said to be open to a 1 year deal, so the Tigers wouldn't have any long term commitment or money tied up in him.

Yeah me too. Happened during the Winter Meetings I think.

The Soria deal is pretty good for the Rangers if he's healthy, and harmless if he's not. 2 years @ $4M a year w/team option for '15 were the numbers I saw. Give him a year to pitch back into form, then take over for Nathan in 2014.
