Re: Paul Ryan introduced as R-Money's running mate
I'm pretty confident BHO can lock down New York.
As others have illustrated, I don't want Romney to be president either, but I won't be weeping openly if it happens. BHO has only himself to blame for his drastic 4-year veering into the center, whether that was out of some misguided belief that it would enable him to get more done, or that he just happens to be a bona fide centrist.

On Tuesday, polls conducted by the firm Rasmussen Reports — which released more than 100 surveys in the final three weeks of the campaign, including some commissioned under a subsidiary on behalf of Fox News — badly missed the margin in many states, and also exhibited a considerable bias toward Republican candidates.
...
The 105 polls released in Senate and gubernatorial races by Rasmussen Reports and its subsidiary, Pulse Opinion Research, missed the final margin between the candidates by 5.8 points, a considerably higher figure than that achieved by most other pollsters. Some 13 of its polls missed by 10 or more points, including one in the Hawaii Senate race that missed the final margin between the candidates by 40 points, the largest error ever recorded in a general election in FiveThirtyEight’s database, which includes all polls conducted since 1998.
Moreover, Rasmussen’s polls were quite biased, overestimating the standing of the Republican candidate by almost 4 points on average. In just 12 cases, Rasmussen’s polls overestimated the margin for the Democrat by 3 or more points. But it did so for the Republican candidate in 55 cases — that is, in more than half of the polls that it issued.

Liberal brainwashing.
Typical.

Lying about a blow job pissed me off. Lying about a war that killed 100K+ people -- seems like something the anti-christ would do.

Pete, you're running out of time to really show how confident you are in Romney
Re: Paul Ryan introduced as R-Money's running mate
I just wanted to jump back in here and add that Paul Ryan for VP was one of the most strategically ridiculous moves in POTUS election history. The VP doesn't really do a whole lot, so their primary utility is balancing a ticket; either geographically, demographically, or in stature. Bush was seen as a novice so he adds Cheney for credibility. McCain adds Palin to try and capture the female demographic. Obama adds Biden to strengthen his working class appeal. And so forth.
Paul Ryan occupies literally the exact same demographic that Romney, he was a man of less stature than Romney, he didn't really have any personality divergent from Romney, and he wasn't even popular enough to win Wisconsin!

I think a guy raised in Kansas by his grandparents already has working class cred. Although I will agree that he doesn't have *white* working class cred (even though that's exactly the demographic said grandparents fit into). Can I say "white" without being called a racist? I saw Biden as giving Obama foreign policy cred. Not unlike Cheney actually.

I thought Ryan provided some good balance. Although Ryan wasn't exactly working class, he didn't have access to the spigot of money and power that the young Romney was born into. Ryan is a credible theist, where I don't think Romney is. Ryan even seems to believe the words that come out of his mouth -- something that can't be said for Romney. And although someone like Rubio might help you win Florida, I think Romney's staff's logic went something like this:
If we don't win Ohio and Florida, we are ****ed. So, assuming we find a way to win those two states, where else do we need help? Wisconsin is a logical answer to that question.
If you put Florida, Ohio, Virginia and Wisconsin in the Romney column, he wins the election 272-268.
And unlike Palin, Ryan could talk for five minutes without being laughed at.
Re: Paul Ryan introduced as R-Money's running mate
I don't see where the Obama working class cred comes from. Nothing about Obama's public persona projects a working class attitude. Rather I think even Dems admit he's pretty prototypical of Ivy League east coast elites. Even if it's not fair in fact, it's a perception matter. Biden acts like he still lives in Scranton and just climbed out of a coal mine 6 months ago. And yeah, I think the foreign policy experience helped a lot as well.
Ryan's background might have been different, but again I don't think anyone perceived him that way. You're right that he's a better theorist, but the GOP compounded the issue by not really letting Paul Ryan explain a whole lot. (I'm assuming you meant theorist cause the GOP doesn't seem to have a theist problem)

You're right, primarily because his path to success is so abnormal, and he quickly adopted much of the academic/elite culture.

I did mean 'theist'. I think many Evangelicals don't think Romney actually believes in God. Almost in the same way that they don't think Obama is a Christian. Obama may or may not go to church, but his actual faith in an anthropomorphic Christian God doesn't shape his life. Romney might give millions to the Mormon Church, but to me he feels like an educated elite who writes "God Bless America" into his speeches because it sounds good.

If the GOP really thought they needed extra Jesus to win this election, then they're dumber than I thought.
