Quinn was talked about as one of the better QB prospects in a bad QB draft class (Jamarcus Russell went #1). Luck is being talked about as a type of QB prospect who comes around once every 10-15 years
I'm not saying that Quinn was as good a pro prospect as Luck. I'm saying that he was a reasonalby good pro prospect, better than most QBs coming out of college, so it's not completely silly to compare him to Luck in that respect. Two players may be comparable but one still be clearly better.

I think it's very obvious now Indy is moving on.

Center Jeff Saturday (who will be a free agent) is reportedly contemplating retirement as well

But the way they are being compared is not valid. CatKnight isn't pointing out similarities in playing style or anything like that. He's saying that Luck could bust because Quinn busted. The fact that Luck is head and shoulders above Quinn as a prospect makes the comparison pretty meaningless.
Coach has it right on having him sit. The only reason you'd have him sit is because you are keeping Peyton Manning and you think Peyton is more likely to win games. The only way anyone can adapt to the NFL is by doing. Warming a bench is not its own benefit.

It's looking like a messy divorce at this point!!

It certainly does. I'm rather surprised that both sides seem so willing to throw one another under the bus at this point.

why surprised? there's a 20+ million dollar contract on the line, along with a public relations nightmare.

Too late to say they should devote all funds to the invention of a time machine to go back and prevent the injury?

I'm surprised because Irsay and Manning always came off as BFFs until about 3 weeks ago.

yeah, but both are sticking to their "business is business" guns, and they should. anyone can be friends until there's 25+ mil at stake.
this could easily be fixed if Manning would rip up that absurd contract and sign one more indicative of what he's expected to do next year, not for what he's done in the past. But why should he? They signed and agreed to pay him that money, and he doesn't want to restructure to play with a team that is going to draft Luck rather than someone who can help him now. Irsay simply can't give him that money and have both those contracts on the books. It can't be done. If Manning isn't going to budge to help Irsay out here than Irsay has to do what he has to do.
The colts are going to have to release him prior to that 25 mil kickin in. No chance at that point of resigning with the Colts...so he'll be able to choose where he wants to go rather than play on a bad team with the future of the franchise biting at his heels to move out of the way. Other teams know they'll have to release him, so there's not a chance in he!! someone will trade for him and have to agree to pay that contract. They'll try to get him cheaper in FA.
Re: Manning / Luck...what do you do?
This is quite the conundrum for Indy now. Peyton cleared by Docs. The Colts can either let him hit the market, or sign/trade him and take a 37 Million Cap Hit. Or they could re-sign him and take some club to the cleaners with that #1 pick.
