where do you think...
Prince Fielder will go? I say the mariners just cuz im a diehard M's fan
-
Re: where do you think...
There is about zero chance of Prince Fielder going to the Mariners. None. Zip.
Cubs.

No, you couldn't have. If someone had suggested "hey, what about Pujols to the Angels" in the week or so leading up to his signing, you certainly couldn't have completely dismissed the idea.
Prince Fielder is not going to the Mariners. It will not happen. And your reasoning as to WHY he'll go to the Mariners (because you're a fan) is not particularly sound.

Re: where do you think...
if u really think fielder is going to the cubs or watever please explain why. Thats the pont of this thread anyways

Re: where do you think...
Toronto makes the most sense. They have the money after missing out on Darvish. They have AA moving the team into position to start winning. They have weak options at 1B. They could really use a star free agent signing.
The lineup would be ridiculous btw: Gose-Y.Escobar-Bautista-Fielder-Lawrie-Lind-Rasmus-K.Johnson-Arrencibia eventually?

I'm sure someone would have said it wasn't possible as the Angels have Trumbo and Morales.

Lol! Why not? They have been listed as one of the possibilities from the start. It would not be a surprise at all. I had him goining to sea in the FA thread but I think now he is going to Toronto.

Re: where do you think...
Well it could still be anybody knwing Boras but i think the probability is
Mariners 47%
Cubs 30%
Blue Jays 18%
Orioles 3%
Other 2%

Considering that their team routinely comes up as one of the handful of teams actually discussing with him, I don't know why you would say there is no chance whatsoever that he signs there.

I don't see it happening. I'm not so sure that Prince is going to want to jump on board a rebuilding project that's really just starting.

I think its the stadium factor. I won't be surprised if he ends up there, but I think it's more likely Toronto though.

Re: where do you think...
for the life in me i can't think of why Prince isn't a viable option for SEA and why there's be a zero percent chance he'd go there. They have the resources, and a need to improve their offense. I think it foolish to give this guy a 7+ year large value deal, but i'm not certain SEA wouldn't do it and feel they'd be just as likely to as Theo & the Cubs.
i believe the Nats & Giants have just as great a shot as any team to land him. If I was forced to choose a team i'd choose the Giants but really feel all the clubs listed have an equal shot. it just depends on who's going to pony up the most years and we really have no way of knowing. prince is kind of an oddball in that he's so huge surely some teams will be more conservative than others on a long term deal.

I agree on the Nats, but not SF. Cain is on the last year of his deal & Lince will be needing an extension soon as well. Combine that with a pretty promising young 1B in Brandon Belt and I think they opt for the cheap prospect and hope he can pan out in the majors

I don't see it happening either, but there's a difference between "I don't think it will happen" and "There's literally no chance that it happens."

Re: where do you think...
I think he'll go to Seattle and at his press conference he will say "Kobie sucks"
-
Re: where do you think...
Just out of curiosity, where has Fielder-to-the-M's been discussed? I just spent 10 minutes looking online and couldn't find anything.

The Hot Stove columnist "guesses" the Mariners. That's the extent of what I see there.

Jon Heyman's a dolt but he's usually correct when it comes to Boras clients.
Also, did you try Googling "Prince Fielder mariners" because this is the second result on the list.

Re: where do you think...
I would love, love, love if the Nats were to sign him to a 3 or 4 or possibly even 5 year deal for 25 mill or so a year, but It ain't happening. More likely it will be the Cubs....
A lineup of Desmond, Werth, Zimmerman, Fielder, Morse, Harper, Ramos, Espinosa, pitcher would go great with a rotation of Strasburg, Gonzalez, Zimmerman, Wang, and Lannan!! Not to mention a bullpen of Detwiler, Gorzelanny, .... , Burnette, Clippard and Storen.
is it spring yet?

it's clear though that no matter how much evidence one shows you that it has been discussed, you are going to ignore it. it's also clear that you are poor at using google.

Re: where do you think...
It looks like Prince might be disappointed. I hear it's pretty much Washington and maybe Texas if they don't sign Darvish. I don't think he'll get anywhere near what Boras had thought. The Brewers offered 5 years at 100 million last off season and he turned it down. Let's see if he gets more than that.
-
Re: where do you think...
Looks like we'll be waiting for the Darvish signing, then find out who can afford PF, and at what price.
I hate waiting...
