Haynesworth in & Ty Warren out to make room
Good times, Rage
Is it just me, or is the media/ESPN completely overestimating the Eagles now that they've signed Asomugha? He's certainly one of the top 2 corners in the league, but they're saying this makes the Eagles SB favorites. There are some pretty glaring holes on that roster that they need to address before they start talking about the Superbowl.
they still have alot of holes to fill to the LB core, as well as both lines and backup HB. Kind of scary now that they are daring teams to run and are pretty bad against the run...but they surely should be able to cheat up and stack the line a bit as well. They still have 5-6 mil in cap space so its possible those holes can be filled w/o dealing Asante, though admittedly it'll be close as they still have their #1 pick to sign and may have to pony up coin for DeSean Jackson though I think the eagles will make him play or hold out and i doubt he'll hold out into the season.
However...with their dynamic offense, the signing of Babin and the solid expectations for this secondary.....the Eagles have to be the consensus pick out of the NFC right now.
nope. i know its laugh out loud crazy to think that two teams that played such a close playoff game should be so far apart talent wise eh????
green bay was the hottest team, not the best team last year. They've done nothing to improve themselves whereas Philly has.
If Maclin is healthy (heard he's a little banged up) & Jackson comes back, other teams may not be in a position to do much running in the 2nd half. Run n Gun offense with great pass defense could be a deadly combo
I only like the Asomugha deal if it means they bring in a top LB for DRC or Samuel (I think Samuel is really underrated as a CB, but understand that DRC is cheaper & younger) & can still afford a new DeSean contract
Honestly, I'm picking the Eagles to win the NFC but it's not totally confident. I think that team is an a great position to win 13 games this year, take the East and then walk into the playoffs a top 2 seed. That being said, it's not like they put themselves so far above Green Bay or Atlanta that it's a guarantee they are walking out of the NFC. Packers were so injured last year and they still put together a SB run. And Atlanta is only going to get better. Though, fun fact. Falcons have never had back to back playoff years in their teams history...
But, yeah, I think the Eagles are pretty damn good and going to be a force in the NFC.
Exactly. I agree with all this. The part i disagree with was Dickay saying they were the consensus pick. It seemed very arrogant especially when you consider what GB has going for them. Just Finley alone coming back is huge. Personally I can't see Vick making it a full 16 games with his style of play.
