Well the only teams that have a better record that than boston are the phillies, yankees and brewers.

1) There are Rays fans here?
2)Did you post this in June and it just now showed up?

Re: Post here when your team has a better record than the bosux
I don't think I've seen a single Rays fan here.
Kyle Weiland is pretty shitty, btw.

Re: Post here when your team has a better record than the bosux
I bet if Carl Crawford played the Sox would have scored like 5 runs.

Re: Post here when your team has a better record than the bosux
Says "reply here when your team has a better record than the Red Sox". I reply. Go Yanks!

Re: Post here when your team has a better record than the bosux
I wonder when, exactly, the Red Sox went from the 'lovable loser' never-can-get-there jokes, to the type of perrenial contender that inspires dislike from fans of completely unrelated teams. When I grew up, being a Red Sox fan meant embracing failure. It meant Buckner and Dent and injuries to Nomar and watching Frank Castillo pitch. It meant that even if we somehow got to the playoffs we would always fail.
The fact that other baseball fans now look to the Red Sox as the team to disparage or chase or beat up whenever possible....I dunno, it's so weird. The Phillies have a higher payroll and have won 5 straight divisions...where's the Philly hate? The Mets had a higher payroll for quite a time. The Tigers had a higher payroll in 2008, Cubs in 2009. It's not like a payroll got us Pedroia and Ellsbury and Lester and Youk and Salty and Buchholz. It's not like we're some dominant team - we sucked in April and we suck now. We make huge FA deals that either disappoint or blow up - Dice-K, Lackey, Crawford.
It's nice to have a team that is run well, and can be in the top 5 in payroll - but the Rays seem to do a lot more with less, have a lot more talent, and are fighting for a playoff spot with the second lowest payroll in baseball. If you think the Sox are just the Yankees in red uniforms instead of pinstripes, then you're not a baseball fan.

Spoken like a Yankee fan. "Jeter, Mo, Bernie, Cano, all home grown! When we spend $100 million on a free agent, they suck!"

Re: Post here when your team has a better record than the bosux
1) Bernie hasn't played for the Yanks in years
2) if it were 'spoken like a yankee fan' it would have the air of someone used to two decades of being the premier baseball team in MLB, not the guise of someone who grew up rooting for the constant loser.
I'll say it again - if you equate the Yankees and Red Sox, you are no fan of baseball.

I don't understand this. I think the Yankees and Red Sox are shockingly similar right now. I'm not a baseball fan?

Re: Post here when your team has a better record than the bosux
Okay, let me clarify - they are both fielding payrolls over $160mil, they both play in the AL East, they are both large markets with good front offices, with a good combination of internal talent development and FA/Trade acquisitions. On a surface level today, they are similar (despite a $40mil difference, difference in the standings, injuries, etc).
Those that are using this, current state, to pretend the Red Sox have been the same constant winners, indominatable force, with an expectation of victory every october, with jagoff better-than-you fans, that can outbid and outspend anyone - that's showing a lack of perspective.
To long-time redsox fans, it's a long term life of woe and suffering with occasionally hitting the lottery. We're had a few years of good management and good runs, and we're tremendously appreciative and thankful - and if the Sox don't make the playoffs this year, that's ok. It's not this winning expectation, it's not this ass-hole behavior, it's not a constant better-than-you bashing.
That's why this whole anti-Sox feel that has arisen the past couple years is baffling and irritating. I liked this team before they were in any way a winner, and now this backlash from the first time in 80 years we've been relevant is just disgusting.

Re: Post here when your team has a better record than the bosux
I hate Boston in general because of this odd belief that THEY are the only town that has ever suffered ever in sports. Every time I meet a Red Sox fan "Ohmigawd you had to have been there in 2003, I was gahna kill Grady Little."
Like, everyone has suffered in sports. EVERYONE. I dislike Boston sports fans for taking their suffering and making it a marketable commodity. Everyone who is a fan has suffered through, Cleveland hasn't won a major sport title since 1948. But everyone in New England acts like they invented it. It's annoying, it's obnoxious. Especially when the Red Sox have a 160 million on the payroll and the Patriots have one of the best QBs to ever play the game.

Re: Post here when your team has a better record than the bosux
Doesn't every fan base think their ******* fans don't exist? If anyone is lacking perspective I'd wager it's someone who is currently a Red Sox fan.

Re: Post here when your team has a better record than the bosux
bump so it's easy for any rays fans to see later today

Re: Post here when your team has a better record than the bosux

I'm a mod on the other forum I frequently visit, and I pretty much make sure the shitty Cards fans don't get away with much lol

Padres
Nats
Astros
Cubs
Pirates
Brewers
Mets
Mariners
Athletics
Twins
White Sox
Orioles

That Cespedes homer was amazing. Don't worry though, it's Happy Felix Day tomorrow.
