As Mogul board wordsmith etothep would say (only I can't say it here because the automatic language police will censor it): F*** the f***ing f***ers! F*** the home plate umpire! F*** Jon Rauch! F*** 2Frank! What the f*** does Jo-Jo Reyes have to do to get one measly f***ing win? Pitch a f***ing perfect game? Tonight's line: 7 IP, 5 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 1 BB, 7 K, 93 pitches, 59 strikes. Leaves leading 2-0...Houston wins 5-2. Surely to god John Farrell, you could've left him out there for another inning. He could probably have gotten through 8 the way he was going. Please baseball gods, just give the man a f***ing win for f***'s sake so I don't have to hear about this stupid f***ing streak anymore. Thank you. Ugh!...Aaargh!...Blargh!...FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU-...

Wut??
17 runs? In one game? The Nationals? Get out of town..... Now they won't score another run for a week...
It was nice to see the 2 rookies (Espinosa and Ramos) each have a chance a hitting for the cycle though... :)

There's ignorant, there's dumb, there's stupid, and then there's the combination of all three. That is Tim McCarver.

lololol @ Fuentes blowing it again. Man, there should be a Fuentes rule, everytime he enters the game, team automatically forfeits just to spare fans from the pain of it all.

Re: * * Official 2011 MLB Discussion Thread * *
Wonders how anyone can still be a Mets fan. It continues to amaze me just how dysfunctional they continue to be. While wilpons comments weren't that absurd they certainly were unnecessary and counterproductive.
There's room in red Sox nation for you metsguy. Its way past time to throw in that towel. Come on over and you can at least find some comedic enjoyment in the Mets.

Re: * * Official 2011 MLB Discussion Thread * *
Those were some pretty funny comments. I don't really see the harm, he's trying to sell the team anyway.
What's amazing is that Wilpon isn't the most dysfunctional owner in the league, and it's not even close.

He's trying to sell some of it, but he still wants to remain majority owner. At least that was the last I read of it.

Oh um not saying will is the most dysfunctional opener but you'll be hard pressed to sell me that there's a more dysfunctional team given all that's happened with the Mets the past three to four years

I still think the Dodgers are worse. The league office had to install an overseer to manage the mess the Dodgers are in.

Yeah, that title goes to Hiroshi Yamauchi who's "owned" (though he doesn't actually do anything) owned the Mariners for 20 years...and has never even been to a game.

well, financially yeah i'd agree the Dodgers are a mess.....but day in and day out, whats happened in NYM over the past few years has been pretty amazing. The little stuff from the front office, to the medical malaise, there's just been so much drama. Being dysfunctional IMO isn't about wins & losses though it usually comes with or leads to losing.
I think it was metsguy or filihok who put a dysfunctional mets flow chart in these forums a year or so ago that was classic. It needs alot of updating now i bet.

How does that make him dysfunctional?

here's the flow chart i was referring to. sooo much could be added since this was created. There are two parts in this that make me laugh out loud.
1. "Do they want Castillo" (no), "Offer Castillo", (yes) "Accept on face, party"
2. Rogue Shirtless High Ranking Official

Because the entire top of the Mariners' operating structure is dysfunctional because the owner doesn't even follow the team.

The operating structure runs perfectly fine. To be dysfunctional, there actually has to be a lapse in function that is harming the team. Howard Lincoln does a pretty competent job running the show. Would you care to list something that Yamauchi has actually done to screw up the franchise?

Yeah but in the Mets corner, they've replaced him with a pretty competent guy now. Omar was an embarrassment, but he isn't one anymore. The Dodgers are still run by Colletti. Hell, there isn't a warrant out against 2 Mets fans for beating up some poor Phillies fan.

oh, i agree the dodgers are pi$$ poor. i don't hold the actions of a teams fans against the team for the most part, although the Dodgers may have some level of complicity there. I agree the Mets now have a competent GM...but the team is still a train wreck and will take some time to get back on track. They have got to destroy that embarrassment. Beltran, Reyes, the medical staff...heck, Wilpon even hurt the trade value of Wright with his comments and likely created sentiments that may lead to him not wanting to resign. Last week an easy pop-up in the infield in front of the pitcher pretty much took out their two best offensive weapons for crying out loud.
And its not just the antics on and off the field...its the real perception around the metro NY area that they are second fiddle, an ugly stepchild, low class...really a joke in comparison to the team across town. Even the baseball field they made has been a farce. Its a shrine to the Brooklyn Dodgers. They got all kinds of gripe for not recognizing the history of the Mets, and every 35 seconds or so an airplane flies right over the stadium making it damn near impossible to hear!!! I'll leave the jokes regarding the naming of the stadium alone. Everything about the Mets is embarrasing right now.
a brand new billion dollar stadium and the Mets fu(k it up in every which-way possible. beautiful stadium..but WTF.

So dissolve the Mets and move the Dodgers back to "Ebbets Field". Problem solved. :)
