Burnett, Josh Towers, Joba Chamberlain and on and on, but Jorge tops them all for me. What an assclown.
Here's where I lost any and all respect for him. Even though he only lightly brushed Jesse Carlson after crossing home plate, why bother doing it at all? Or if you're gonna do it, smash him, don't just give him a love tap. Looks like somebody took care of smashing Carlson in the ensuing melee anyhow. ;)
9 days before this brawl the Jays' Randy Ruiz was hit in the face by the Yankees' Josh Towers on an 0-2 pitch. Picture
here. While I highly doubt Towers was trying to hit Ruiz, his 1.5 BB/9 career ratio suggest a guy with impeccable control. Sidenote: Anybody can have one get away, but Towers also had a reputation for protecting his own, or as he said following the game in 2007 in which he plunked A-Rod (when Towers was a Jay) in retaliation for A-Rod's "Ha!" game (Howie Clark and John McDonald mistook the utterance for the other one calling "Mine!" on a popup and the ball plopped to the turf - I thought Johnny Mac was gonna kill A-Rod - it takes a lot to piss off the Prime Minister of Defense, but A-Rod sure managed to [picture below]): "Gotta stick up for my boys". Back to 2009: Hill had also been hit earlier on the night Rod Barajas was dragged around by his chest protector in Yankees Stadium. As the announcer mentioned something had been building for a while and Pussyada just had to be the one to spark the powder keg...Because that's who he is. Schmuck. I hope he retires soon, because I can't stand him.
I'm waiting for the day McDonald runs by Jeter and A-Rod in the same situation. I think he'd have more class than to yell 'Ha' but I would love if he did, especially if it scored a crucial run.

Soooo....Jose Bautista is pretty good.
In other news, Delmon Young is a horrible fielder and the rest of the team is just playing poorly all-around.

The Twins are just awful right now. They remind me of the Mariners from last season. And yeah, Joey Bats is the bawm

Awesome-tastic
Re: * * Official 2011 MLB Discussion Thread * *
That Bautista extension sounds like the bargain of the off-season right now.
He has seen 34% of pitches in the strike zone.
Bonds 01-04 never had a season lower than 40% and we all know how that turned out.

I don't think that accounts for the boatload of intentional walks that Bonds was issued.

It probably doesn't, but if Jose keeps this up, his IBB might start getting raised.

please tell me you're not in any way comparing Bautista to Bonds, are you? I know the answer, there's no way you would be...but something is making me ask anyway ;)

Relative to league average, Bautista’s current performance – if sustained for the whole season – would go down as easily the best offensive performance of all time. His current wRC+ is 278 – Barry Bonds’ 2002 season holds the record at 245.

What are you insinuating dickay? In terms of how locked in he is, and the last guy that I remember being this locked in...Yes, it's Bonds. What of it?
