Lying again.
And waitaminnit -- you're actually agreeing with what I said earlier, yet still attempting to use it as a cudgel against me in your neverending quest to feel superior on the internet. Duly noted.

You've just been really hostile towards members, and openly throwing personal insults. It's one thing to not like another member - but it's quite another to openly display your dislike without at least veiling it behind facts or at least employing some humorous prose to make the insults entertaining to the peanut gallery. I could hear 'You suck, I'll laugh at you' from any preschooler.

When one's argument consists of dishonestly attempting to tell me what I think and then ripping me for it, it's hard to tell what "facts" I'm supposed to use.
However, your concern is duly noted. I wholeheartedly appreciate the lecture.

Actually, that's not true. You only accuse people who are critical of Republicans of being "cheerleading puppets."
I could not care less what your opinion is. Save it for someone who does.
How about Fienstein and SOPA? She was pushing that **** harder than any of those loon Repubs?

Yep, and Diane Fienstein is an awful person. Nowhere did I say that every single Democrat is better than every single Republican. Fienstein, Maxine Waters and a few others are simply terrible.

And no other job allows people to congregate every four years and determine whether you can keep it.
I see Obama as bad; I see Romney as objectively worse in every conceivable fashion. So why on earth would I vote for Romney? Bear in mind I don't plan on voting for Obama either -- my vote really doesn't matter since Romney has about as much chance of winning my home state as I do.

Re: Official "What are you thinking about right now?" (Political Version)
New study shows that if ALL registered voters turned out, Obama would have a 91% chance of being re-elected.
Disinterest and ambivalence are pretty much the Republicans' only shot at winning presidential elections from here on out. You stay home, they win.

What other job allows one to carry on wars?
I mean besides oil executive, pharmaceuticals executive, etc...

Re: Official "What are you thinking about right now?" (Political Version)
I do kind of feel like a tool.
Reading NDAA section 1021, it exempts US citizens from indefinite detention. Which raises the question as to why the media would spread this fear around and why a Federal Judge would overturn it if it doesn't harm US citizens?
-
Re: Official "What are you thinking about right now?" (Political Version)
Not having to tell someone (even if they aren't a citizen) how long you plan on detaining them seems both cruel & unusual

It is. It wasn't the reason I was upset about it though. Reading it closer, I still don't like it and am glad it was overturned. I just don't like being misinformed.

The Bill of Rights generally only applies to US Citizens...

Why do I feel like Obama is going to start a war in Cairo in a last ditch attempt at being reelected?

Regardless of what letter / color you place yourself in politically, Michelle Malkin gets it dead on accurate here. 6 minutes but worth listening to as she doesn't get into it for a bit. The 3:00 mark is a good starting point.

It would seem to me that the 14th & 5th ammendments say otherwise
Also at least one of the framers of the Constitution seemed to think non-citizens should be protected:
"Again, it is said, that aliens not being parties to the Constitution, the rights and privileges which it secures cannot be at all claimed by them.
To this reasoning, also, it might be answered, that although aliens are not parties to the Constitution, it does not follow that the Constitution has vested in Congress an absolute power over them. The parties to the Constitution may have granted, or retained, or modified the power over aliens, without regard to that particular consideration.
But a more direct reply is, that it does not follow, because aliens are not parties to the Constitution, as citizens are parties to it, that whilst they actually conform to it, they have no right to its protection. Aliens are not more parties to the laws, than they are parties to the Constitution; yet, it will not be disputed, that as they owe, on one hand, a temporary obedience, they are entitled in return to their protection and advantage.
If aliens had no rights under the Constitution, they might not only be banished, but even capitally punished, without a jury or the other incidents to a fair trial. But so far has a contrary principle been carried, in every part of the United States, that except on charges of treason, an alien has, besides all the common privileges, the special one of being tried by a jury, of which one-half may be also aliens."
- James Madison
Only rights I can think of not afforded to non-citizens are right to bear arms & right to vote

Re: Official "What are you thinking about right now?" (Political Version)
Romney dismissing 47% of the country as worthless. That will sure boost those poll numbers
next up, he dismisses anyone darker than eggshell white

Did you see the graph that the vast majority of those 47% (the figure apparently refers to people who pay no net Federal income tax) are in the deep south?
-
Re: Official "What are you thinking about right now?" (Political Version)
Anyway, indefinite detention of non-citizens generally runs afoul of international treaties more than the Bill of Rights. From the 14th Amendment, Bill of Rights only protects non-citizens from actions by a state, in that particular state. That's why terrorist suspects are detained in Gitmo and other countries.

That's more where I was going with this. However, there are some people who have themselves convinced that Romney is the one in the catbird seat.

Probably has something with BHO being an incumbent during shitty times.

Dunno, Bush won in 2004.
The most reliable statistical projection, based on years of data regarding how elections work, has Obama as a heavy favorite. He's an incumbent, and the GOP nominee is an utter imbecile. Obama doesn't need an October surprise.

Re: Official "What are you thinking about right now?" (Political Version)
Incumbents enjoy pretty significant advantages in elections.

This.
Something like 90% of incumbents keep their seats in every office.
Plus, R-Money cant seem to say anything right.

Re: Official "What are you thinking about right now?" (Political Version)
Romney is trailing, by a margin of 1 to 8 points, in every major poll conducted post-DNC.
And that's before Romney jumped on the administration's handling of terrorist killings, and dismissed 47% of the country.
My wife went out to do canvassing and knock on doors last night, to make sure NC stays blue. I'm thinking it may, and wondering what that means for the governer's race here.
