I think if we hire Jon Gruden, we'll see a lot more Tebow style run plays. And he'll try to get him passing the ball so it's not as predictable.
Honestly, what's Orton worth? 2 thirds at max? I say keep him. He's an FA at the end of next year, I'm still not sold on Tebow and don't think he should start next year.

I think you missed my point, HAC, the 49ers and Bills are teams that haven't been good and haven't had a good QB since their last HOFer retired. They have drafted guys (Alex Smith, J.P. Losman, Trent Edwards, etc.) but no one has panned out. And I think that generally has set back the franchise.
Orton isn't going to win a Super Bowl with this team, I never said that, but to go with Tebow this early is, frankly, irresponsible. And QB busts tend to set teams back 4 to 5 years. EX-Oakland, San Fran, Cleveland...twice. We're not going to be good next year anyway, why ruin Tebow's confidence by trying to get him to win games with an awful squad? Our draft could be A+ next year and we'd win what? 7 games? The Broncos are far from being a playoff team, I don't want to ruin Tebow by throwing him into a Lion's den just in case your boy actually has something.
Honestly, I'm still not sold on Tebow and I think you are. To go out there and say "You're our guy because you did kind of OK somewhat against Oakland" is just plain silly. Orton is the better QB, he's not going to fetch anything of actual value, imo. So why risk Tebow? Why not give Orton his last year, allow Tebow to continue to develop (everyone knows he's still a work in progress) and then give Tebow his shot when Orton walks on a new contract? It doesn't make any sense to me to trade Kyle this offseason, none whatsoever.
Tebow isn't a starting QB yet. Not saying he won't be...but I don't see how he is one now after one decently OK game.
Well, if all you could get for Orton was 2 3rds, I wouldn't trade him either. What I was thinking was trading him and getting actual value, getting a different QB to place hold (could be Drew Stanton or Shaun Hill or whoever), use Orton as a chip to get pieces and build from the ground up, and then you put Tebow in.
I don't see how that helps the Broncos though. Getting Stanton and what...a 4th? I mean I don't see how that helps. Or do you just want Kyle Orton in Detroit?
I don't think Kyle Orton is that valuable, I mean I know he's a good QB but like you said he's not this great quarterback. He's a placeholder, he's not going to turn Arizona or Carolina or whoever into a Super Bowl contender so he's not going to get a 2nd or 1st round pick, imo.
Riding out Orton's contract next year and beginning the rebuilding process on our own draft picks is the best option, in my opinion. With Orton or without him, we're toast for three years probably so why ship a guy out who's just gonna get you no better than a 3rd round pick anyway?
I just don't see the sense in trading him for a worse quarterback.
