Hi Everyone!

Just another wild Saturday Night here in Mogul Land. I went to upgrade the board to 4.0, and wouldn't you know it? It wasn't as easy as it should have been. The info's all here, but the style info to make the board not look like some kind of 1995 website made by high school students seems to be long gone.

We're getting help for it. Please bear with us.

No problem, Dee...these little blips make us all aware of how right things go for 99.99% of the time.

Is there anyway to make it so that it doesn't go to the quick reply box whenever you click 'Reply to Thread'? I liked it better when it loaded a new page when you wanted to reply. I know you still can by clicking "Go Advanced", but I'm just used to it going straight to a new page when I click Reply.

Is the "User control panel" now gone?

Ok "Settings" is the User CP.

If you double-click on "Reply" it'll load the new page.

On my home computer, I'm only getting 2 pages on my Jays dynasty thread, even though there's about 10. I can view them on my work comp, but not my home one.

I assume you mean that your entire dynasty is showing up on just two pages instead of 10, and not that you can't view anything past two pages. If so, you can edit your settings to how many posts show up per page. To some people, a thread can be eight pages, while it's only one page for others.

So...are we ever going to be going back to the old style? Not to complain or anything, but seems like everyone in my league is upset about it. Uploading files is particularly annoying.

What settings aren't the way they used to be (besides graphics?) I didn't realize it would reset more than just the graphics...
Just start listing the problems and I'll do my best to get them fixed. Sorry about that!

I'd imagine there's a setting that will enable advanced reply by default or at least give you a second button to choose it?

As far as the uploads go....I don't know, even ignoring the broken image part of the screenshot I'm posting, it's just counterintuitive. Everyone I've spoken too is confused as hell the first time they try to upload a file now.

I personally liked the old way better, my only annoyance is it is hard to distinguish the signature and the post...

You can change back to the old uploader by going to Settings>General Settings then scroll down to the bottom and turn Enhanced Attachment Uploading off.

That's great to know--I wasn't aware of that. I just know when I get 4/4 simmers (uploaders) in my league asking wtf is up...well, there's an issue. The new default is just not intuitive.

Okay..this one I managed to figure out. :) The sigs are now in a light gray area down below.

Do the code boxes have a horizontal scroll bar? For me, they don't, and it looks all screwed up. If I edit the post and use the Preview function, it looks fine, with the horizontal scroll bar and all, but the actual post won't show it...

The scroll bars are there for me...
What browser are you using, and do you have anything like NoScript running that might block the bars? (I run no-script, though, and I have no issues, so that can't be it.)

Google Chrome, and no, nothing like NoScript running. I saw the same problem on IE, but it looks fine on Firefox.

I did a little searching on Google and it appears like it might be fixed in a newer version of vBulletin (seems to work on 4.0.7). I didn't spend too much time looking at the bug tracker but there were other issues with horizontal scroll bars and Chrome.

It took me a while, but I just disabled the 'Asset Manager' in the 'Manage Attachments' feature. I also thought that new interface was really annoying.

We have a policy of upgrading vBulletin on a fairly regular basis, primarily because we need the newest versions to include the most up-to-date security patches. But if it includes annoying changes, we'll try to pay attention and see what we can do.
