I honestly don't buy specific player jerseys anymore. If I buy a jersey at all, I do it online and get is personalized (and I won't apologize for it either).
That being said, IF I HAD to buy a player's jersey and they were sold out of Albert Pujols, I'd have a couple of alternatives in mind:
