Re: Yanks/Cards/BoSox/Phils or the field?
I really do like my cards chances this year, of at least playing in late October.
Really just depends on two things.
Will Carpenter and Wainwright get 50 starts between the two of them?
and will the back end of the bullpen be effective.
I think we could lose one of Holliday or Pujols all year and still score enough runs to win 85-90....it really just depends on our pitching.
I like the way we match up against the Phillies honestly...I see both teams rather equally. Objectively
Re: Yanks/Cards/BoSox/Phils or the field?
And unsurprisingly, fans of those 4 teams voted for them, fans of other teams voted for the "another team" option.

Not really
Re: Yanks/Cards/BoSox/Phils or the field?
No because Ewing isn't a fan of one of those 4 teams?
Re: Yanks/Cards/BoSox/Phils or the field?
Buster Olney picked the Rockies.
Obviously, this means the Rockies are ****ed.

Re: Yanks/Cards/BoSox/Phils or the field?
I could go with Jim Caple and pick the Phillies to miss the playoffs, the Diamondbacks to win the WC, and the Giants to beat the Twins in the Series...but, I'm not a *****...So, I'll take door #1, Alex.
And the White Sox? Since it's not like Alex Rios and Andruw Jones are going to hit better than .230 this year, it isn't happening.
Re: Yanks/Cards/BoSox/Phils or the field?
I think Rios will bounce back.
But, I don't see them going to the playoffs.
Re: Yanks/Cards/BoSox/Phils or the field?
Perhaps...I even think they could win the Central, but no way they make it through the likes of the Yanks, Red Sox, Rays.
Re: Yanks/Cards/BoSox/Phils or the field?
P.S. - Mariners = no more than 78 wins.
Rangers win the West.

Rangers? They were such a fluke, imo.
I don't see Feldman or that pitching staff having a good year in the launching pad in Arlington.
Re: Yanks/Cards/BoSox/Phils or the field?
i too like the rangers and angels as the top two teams in teh AL West. I predict the Mariners struggle as well.

They're improved from last year...
Re: Yanks/Cards/BoSox/Phils or the field?
Texas is probably the best team in the West. Mariners second. Pretty much, the division will be decided by luck & injuries. Everyone is within a few games of each other in all the simulations I've seen.
Although, saying the Mariners will finish with less than 78 wins is pretty funny. To be honest, I'm pretty sure everyone except the Twins in the central will finish below .500 with the entire West above or at .500 for the second year in a row. Angels I doubt do well, I know they've outplayed their pythag and early season sims, but that rotation is already dropping like flies.
