he will actually convert to pitcher mid-season this year, meaning the Twins will not need a DH. Mauer will pitcher every day that has an S in it.
Monday is Baker, and Friday is Blackburn. Slowey goes to the bullpen.

I'm sure that someone in the Twins organization has the financial acumen to save money for future salaries if they are worried about it. Frontloading or backloading the contract would be about making Mauer happy - it should have essentially no effect on a company with the resources of a major league baseball team (even a poorly managed one).Quote:
