Re: NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament Thread
If WVU could hit a couple of those easy 2 point jumpers they would be really giving it to Kentucky.
-
Re: NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament Thread
Both of these teams are good at defense.
And basketball in general.

You could be saying the same thing about Kentucky missing their 3's

Re: NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament Thread
if you told me that WV would go the entire first half and be 0-15 on 2 point shots, I would not have like my chance of having them win ...

Apart from Bledsoe, they aren't that great of a jump shooting team.
The 1-3-1 trap zone owns.

Re: NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament Thread
Does John Calipari promote poor free throw shooting at whatever school he goes to?

Just don't think he spends much, if any, time on it in practice.
And for the record, I was bound to be wrong eventually :p

Re: NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament Thread
John Wall can just show Butler his pay check next year for revenge.

Re: NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament Thread
10th foul on WV, kent in the double bonus the rest of the way ..
.. Can they just opt to take the ball out on not shoot FTs?

3 #1 seeds now knocked out, now watch Duke lose to Baylor, that would be funny, lol.

Re: NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament Thread
Kentucky played tough but not smart. Usually they adjust well at halftime but not tonight. Heckuva game by the Mountaineers.

Team of freshmen the best team in the country.
So much for that.
There's a reason why Calipari hasn't won a title yet.

Yeah maybe they should run free throw drills.
Little bit disappointing with the play of some teams. A lot of sloppy ball. Butler seems to be the team that can at least play with some sort of grace.
-
Re: NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament Thread
well its not overly surprising, Kenticky has had several games where they struggled to shoot well.
Usually they were athletic enough to manage a win against lesser teams, but it just seemed a matter of time before it happened in the tourney vs a top notch team.

Re: NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament Thread
Is there anyone who you'd like to see in the NBA more than Butler's Gordon Hayward?
How awesome would he look standing in the starting lineup next to Allen Iverson and Ron Artest?

Don't forget the kid that wears the matching t-shirt under his jersey - Matt Howard

Seriously!? WTF!? You're indoors, you don't need the t-shirt, whitey!

What a game this Michigan St v. Tennessee is turning out to be.

Re: NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament Thread
You'd hate to see a game end on free throws but that was a pretty bad hack.

Free throws is that reason. Not youth. Cause, yeah, Marcus Camby wasn't a freshman.
Jim Boeheim owes a title to freshmen.

If Gus Johnson isn't commentating this game, i'll be one sad panda.

Tom Izzo just dragged MSU to the final four without his best player, and with two other players playing hurt. Don't try to tell me experience doesn't matter.

You have to call the foul when the defender tries to sit on the shooter 3 feet from the basket. It was a fantastic pass by Draymond Green to get the ball down low and give Raymar the opportunity to hit his free throws.

First, Tom Izzo is the best coach in the tournament year in, year out. That's worth more then experience.
And second,
Did I say it doesn't matter?
What I said was, the blah blah blah from the talking heads that the most experienced teams win every single year isn't true. Freshmen can, and have, won tourneys. If your team is good, it's good. Fact.
And it's not like MSU upset the entire world. The only higher seed they beat was Maryland. Not like I can fault them for that in this tourney but it's not like they are the most improbable run to the final four in history. In fact, Butler beat the top two seeds in their region, I'd say they are the most improbable run since 06.

Yeh, I didn't want to incur the wrath of HAC by saying this, but yeh I agree with OD here
Also Izzo is as underrated as a coach with a National Title to his name can be

What's up with those UPS commercials about right turns? If the trucks always take right turns, they'll just drive round and round and round....

Re: NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament Thread
I love it when every single little bit of contact is whistled for a foul for 40 minutes. Just makes the game so damn fun to watch and really helps give it an entertaining flow that all fans can get into
