Re: NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament Thread
First buzzer beater of the tourney.
2010 Tourney>2009 and 2008 Tourney combined. Already.

If you have 'em going down to Richmond, then you're out a Sweet 16 team

Re: NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament Thread
I've only lost 2 2nd round teams so far (ND and Vandy)

Re: NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament Thread
Richmond is my first miss of the day. I had ODU and Murray pulling upsets.

Ya, I have Baylor going to the championship in one of mine so I know what you're talking about.

Then, if they get to the Elite 8, they have to face either a Villanova team that causes so many mismatches, a Baylor team that can light it up when they're right, an unbelieveably hot Notre Dame team, or another solid mid-major in Richmond/St. Mary's. Given their recent reputation, expect the Blue Devils to slip up at some point, paving the way for someone else to sneak in.
Also, I hate the play-in game. Period. Anyone else think that they should just do away with one at-large bid? Would anyone really miss it?
Yeah, after one day of games, I'm just gonna pencil Duke into the Final Four right now. So far the most effective looking team in the South Region has been St. Mary's.

Re: NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament Thread
damn, my bracket already sucks.

Re: NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament Thread

One game=the best way to judge a team.

Re: NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament Thread
Kansas getting a fight out of Lehigh
-
Re: NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament Thread
G'town, 'nova, Marquette, Notre Dame
Not a strong showing by the Big East on Day 1
-
Re: NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament Thread
1-3 with the one win the team being outplayed. Yeah, that conference is expecting a better showing from Syracuse, West Virginia, Pitt, and Louisville
-
Re: NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament Thread
I've only missed two so far; missed the St. Mary's and Ohio victories.

I'm hardly judging anyone on one game. The Robert Morris game just proved what I already knew: Villanova is a completely mediocre team is Scotty Reynolds isn't doing anything. Morris held him to 2-15 shooting.
If Duke doesn't win that region, Coach K should quit.
-
Re: NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament Thread
I missed three games last night after starting 10-for-10
(Georgetown, Marquette, and San Diego St. But who didn't have the Hoyas winning that game? Ohio was great looking and scrappy in their MAC playoffs games...but who woulda thunk they could drill a perennial powerhouse team. Big East is looking really suspect this tourney after being highly touted as the best conf all year. Maybe all the top teams are just tired and worn out from beating up on each other for two months.)
-
Re: NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament Thread
The best game of day1 [that I watched] was Fla-BYU
-
Re: NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament Thread
Georgetown just got embarassed...... 11-5 day for me not bad
-
Re: NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament Thread
PS- Stuck at work or not near a TV?
Watch every game here:

I watched these streams all day yesterday. The same 6 commercials get really annoying (Ivan Brothers!!), but it's worth it.

Re: NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament Thread
WVU is ice cold down 8-0 to Morgan St.

Baylor is the popular pick to win that region and I took them because I think Duke is a team that can only win in the ACC.
If the outside shot isn't falling, the only way they can score is if Zoubek has a mismatch.
Baylor is athletic, has a new sense of toughness on D, and has guard play that can match Smith/Scheyer at times.

ACC refs call a **** ton of fouls, especially for the Big 2 (dook & the tarholes). Dook teams get used to this, and then when the tourney starts & they gets looser refs, they seem to have no idea what to do. Happens like clock-work every year since K decided to stop recruiting talented big men. Oh, and any team that counts on Zoubek & his 5 points a game is doomed for failure

Agreed. Especially against tougher teams. The Big 12 is clearly the top conference in basketball this season with the Big East mailing in half their teams to the tournament. Baylor is going to prove that I think.
In fact, I have Texas A&M upsetting Duke in the round of 16.
