Holy **** that's the greatest thread ever
Re: Tori Hunter: Black Latino players are "impostors"
That reminds me. Metsguy is chastising others for assuming a certain race speaks a certain way (even though nobody did that), when he once assumed, hell, insisted, that a person with a Latino last name must be foreign (he insisted that Freddy Sanchez was foreign even though he was born in America).

That was regarding that military base shooting a few months ago. The guy had a name like Muhammad or something so he automatically assumed he was Arabic and Muslim.

Oops!
He never said (at least not in this thread) that any accent is "incorrect". He implied that an accent may be inarticulate.

Eagerly awaiting this USA Today article:
Quote:
Fans look down from their seats onto the basketball court, see light-colored skin and might assume they are White-American players. But increasingly, the players instead hail from Spain, Italy or Germany.
"People see white faces out there, and the perception is that they're White American," Philadelphia 76ers guard/forward Jason Kapono says. "They're not us. They're impostors.
"Even people I know come up and say, 'Hey, what color is Dirk Nowitzki? Is he a white player?' I say, 'Come on, he's German. He's not white.' "

Nice one Jellio
As for my comments - sorry if they offended you MG - but I can pretty safely say that I've dated more black (and other ethnicity) chicks in my life than you've talked to (and possibly seen), so I'm pretty comfortable with my racial sensitivity.

Yeah, pull out the old, "I'm not racist! I've been inside a lot of black people" card.
