I guess I deserve the back splash. Something doesn't scream, greatest lefty over the next decade to me about Lester.
Either way, it's all speculation. I just don't see him being the greatest pitcher of all south paws over the next decade.

Who else is there?
Chances are, he won't be, but given what we know right now, I can't think of a better speculative pick.

It could be Kershaw very easily, but Lester's the safer pick as of today because he's proven better endurance and control.

After Santana, who is almost certainly regressing.
I would think guys like Bumgarner, Price, C.C. (probably regressing as well), Kazmir, Hamels, Happ, Sanchez, Brett Anderson, Clayton Kershaw, Holland, Danks, Lee, hell even Martin Perez....
Point is, there are several other lefties that I think could possibly have a better decade than Lester. I think any of the above guys could almost as easily be discussed as possibly having a better decade than Lester. But hey, if I could predict the future, I would be a very rich man.

Most of those guys are unproven, haven't had Lester's success, or are in their 30's.
All of those guys COULD end up as the top lefty, just like there's many first basemen that could end up as the top first basemen besides Prince Fielder...but, given Lester's combination of youth, established success and positive trends, I think he's the safest pick.
