How many Games do you attend on average, each year?
Let's see how many crazy people we have out there.
This only counts for MLB games, not minor league, or college baseball games.
My high was 34 in 06.
My low has been 2 in a single year since 84.
I probably average somewhere around 6-8 a year though.
First game that I am going to this year will be the Met's series...going to the Friday night game, and the Saturday game with a bunch of friends, and taking my son to his first ever baseball game!!!!!!!!
That is all we have planned thus far, but I usually try to see a ball park every summer that I have never been to before, last year I didn't get to :( but we were trying to plan a trip....but it didn't happen.
This year, we are supposed to be in cincy for about a week, going to see if I can catch a game there if we end up going.

Normally can't afford to go to games but hopefully can catch all 3 when the Rox come to KC

Nearest teams are the Nats & Braves, both roughly 5 hours away & both of whom I have absolutely zero interest in (if it's possible to have negative interest, then that would be the more accurate level of my interest in the Nats)

Every few years I catch a series in Toronto.

Re: How many Games do you attend on average, each year?
can't afford many mlb games. on average I say 2-3 per year, usually paid for by clients. I do go to 6-10 minor league games however.

I'm thinking more along the lines of those night games in June and July with a view of the Minneapolis skyline.
Although I did keep my balcony door open until December when I could see my breath and have yet to turn on the heat this winter, so I can handle the April cold. I am the Ice King!

Re: How many Games do you attend on average, each year?
6-8 usually. I got tickets to opening day and one Sox game already this year and then I'll probably get a couple during the year. Usually go to the Cubs once and Dodgers a couple times. Probably the Giants this year too.
I went to a lot in 2009 only because the majority of the year I lived three blocks away.

That's what I did every year except last year. The first year I lived in Minneapolis, I was two blocks from the Metrodome.

well you should make enough this year to get yourself some season tickets and pay for heat. ;)

And catch one of those series in St. Louis.

Re: How many Games do you attend on average, each year?
When I lived in stl, and was working downtown, going to a cardinals game beat dealing with rush hour traffic to get back home.
Just would get the cheap tix and walk around the stadium with a few biddies who lived downtown.
that or dates...or if friends would come in town, just always went a cardinals game.

I always bought the "Cheap Seats" at the Metrodome. To me, it was the best view in the entire place, and you could sit almost anywhere in the Upper Deck. Needless to say, people are a little more into the game up there than if I would have sat on the lower level.

fully agree!
I don't think I have ever spent more than 30 bucks a ticket for a big league game in my life (aside from like Wrigley)
But I haven't been to New York, and my dad has always provided the playoff tickets to those games I have gone to.

Me neither, I don't think. The higher a ticket price is, or that section of the ballpark, the less fun it tends to be.

Re: How many Games do you attend on average, each year?
I aim for one a month with my kids, and usually actionjackson and/or my parents if they are in town. With the almost 2 hours driving each way, it makes for a long day for the kids (both under 3 years old) - I'd probably go to more if I lived in Toronto.
If my parents go, they pay for lower level seats, if not I can't be bothered to spend more than the $9 for the upper deck. With kids, there is no guarantee you are going to spend much of the game actually in your seat, so why pay for it. We do sometimes show up a little early and go down to batting practice. Last year my son got his hat signed by Jesse Litsch - which was good until he went on the DL two days later.

unless you're one of the very very fortunate ones to win the ticket lotto the day they go on sale, you can't even get bleacher seats at Fenway for under 30 bucks a seat as they are resales. I don't even bother anymore trying to win that lotto for face value tickets. Wasted too many days trying so in years past.

Re: How many Games do you attend on average, each year?
A couple a year, when someone I know offers tickets they're selling, or just can't use. I don't kill myself trying to get them on my own. We put our energy into hitting the handful of minor league teams that are within road-trip range. Need to finally get to a Cape Cod League game or two, this year.

I didn't know you and AJ were real life friends.
Cool, wondering how many other posters on here have other real life friends that frequent the board.
I live 90 minutes from Busch Stadium, I understand how ya feel.

That's because it's Boston....
Your big market areas, 30 dollar tickets aren't an option.

1 - Too much of a social-phobe to put up with many more a year.

Re: How many Games do you attend on average, each year?
9-12ish seems about right usually.
This year will probably be a bit less.

Cousins actually. We hadn't seen each other in a few years (lived at opposite ends of the country for a long time) when I saw him start posting on here. He gave just enough details for me to figure out who he was - and then got back in touch through Mogul messaging.

When you're taking Kaden, timing is everything. I've found that, for me, leaving extra early is good, and the kids tend to sleep on the way in, and sometimes on the way back as well. When my son was 3 1/2 months old, he went to his first game (a minor league game because of where we were living). That was fun for me - he slept through most of it. Since then, games are a little more work as he sleeps less, but they are also a lot more fun. One piece of advice if you're going to day games - figure out which seats are in the shade and try and get those. Kids that young won't usually be happy in the sun for 3 hours.

Re: How many Games do you attend on average, each year?
i usually get over 13. I have a 17 game plan for the phillies + playoff games. Then i live about 10mins from the stadium so i go to a couple more. Last year i went to 15 games from my plan 1 NLDS, 2NLCS and a world series games. I also went two other games. so i went to about 21 games.

Re: How many Games do you attend on average, each year?
That would be 0, thanks in large part to geography and a lack of the kind of coin to hop a flight to go see a game. :D

not only is that a bad ass story, but Clay and Dee should promote that awesomeness.....
come to the mogul forums, where family members unite!

Re: How many Games do you attend on average, each year?
When I lived in DC I tried to go to one game in each series.
We'll see how it shakes out here in NY. Definitely going to Mets and Dodgers, hopefully my Mets fan bro can get his ass in gear and get out here too. I have to go to at least one game at Yankee Stadium-though I feel dirty contributing financially to the empire.

Re: How many Games do you attend on average, each year?
I usually see 4-9 a year, mostly going to Tampa and then Miami.
This year is different - no guys trips to floriduh, only vegas. No majro league action close enough.
I do get to see the White Sox when they come play the Charlotte Knights tho. April 1st! I'll see a major league team in action before any of you mofos! har har har

Re: How many Games do you attend on average, each year?
I usually go to the Sox/Rays series in Tampa. I would see 3 to 9 games a year there.
My company has a few clients in boston, so in late 2008 I was treated to a game at Fenway which was sweet. But I like seeing other teams and getting more exposure.
I usually attend 6 or 7 minor league games too, since their cheaper and closer, but there's a seperate thread for that.
This year, I dont think ill see a Sox game in person. Maybe if they visit Atlanta?

Re: How many Games do you attend on average, each year?
I buy two ten packs every year. It includes opening day and at least 1 Cub game and playoff tickets if they make it (which is once every 26 years). I get the cheapest seats which are behind home plate in the upper deck, but really they're not that bad. I live about 5 minutes from Miller park. I usually also go to one Cubs-Brewer game in Wrigley. This year I might check out the SOX, though.

Actually I have grown to like it as well. You can see the whole field really well.
