Hahaha. Love it.

overrating him. I'd take Soriano's arm over Ankiel's arm.

Why do you randomly put foreign phrases into posts? Do you expect us to know what they mean?

Over all your right...but those were damn good throws.

We're on the internet, use it; or just ignore the phrases.

Which Soriano?

I didn't really understand it fully, but it was something about learning Danish I think.

No. He has a really good arm. He's had an extremely good arm since shifting in to LF. In 2008 he had the best LF arm, easily. He may not be a great defensive OF, but it's not because of his arm.

It's because of his hop isn't it?
Re: Greatest Outfield Arms
Either way, I don't really see his arm as being that great.

his 14.0 in 07 is solid, but overall, it doesn't look all that solid.
Meanwhile, Ankiel's isn't showing much better overall, but I don't see Soriano as having a better arm.
Than again, I am not so blind to think it could be fandom mystifying up my eyes. It very well could be.
Re: Greatest Outfield Arms
This is a better study than either of those.

Alfonso Soriano has done it again. For the third straight season, Soriano takes top honors in throwing for a left fielder. As in past years, Soriano excelled in nailing baserunners.
Soriano was hurt for part of the 2008 season and only accrued about a half-season's worth of opportunities, but he made the most of them. He impressively threw out four runners trying to score from third base on a fly ball. Curiously, Soriano's hold rate is only about average, despite his proficiency in gunning down opponents since he became an outfielder. You'd think that runners would start wising up.

A few things to keep in mind when evaluating outfield thowing. First, there is quite a bit of year-to-year variation in these results, since they are based on a rather low number of opportunities. Do I know that Matt Kemp or Hunter Pence are among the best-throwing outfielders in the game? I do not, although I do know that in 2008 they were among the best. (I'm pretty sure Soriano is exceptional at controlling the running game, since he has been great for several years.)
Re: Greatest Outfield Arms
Btw, 14 runs from your arm is way more than solid.
