You know those gifts your cat probably leaves on your doorstep? Yeah, those were from Santa. He was hit hard by the recession and has had to metamorphosize into a cat.

That really sucks for A's fans. Right after he won the MVP in the AFL too. Yikes.

Athiests:
Because becoming a priest is exactly the same as recruiting suicide bombers.

Re: A's prospect leaving the game for priesthood
You misunderstand! Persuing their version of god's work is something that should be blessed!
besides, i kid. I've already said, good for him. bad for A's fans.
but everyone gets a quote of 2 jabbing posts in this thread, so i figured i would fulfill mine

Did the guy ever give an interview or anything on the subject?

Re: A's prospect leaving the game for priesthood
now, Grant does know that the priesthood will still accept him if he applies AFTER his baseball career, right? I mean, there's no papal minor leagues or draft. He could have done both.
Not judging him, just kinda confused.

Well, he traded his wood for God...
...BOTH of them.

Re: A's prospect leaving the game for priesthood
I guess its good for a religious male to get out of the high profile life of an athlete. Way too much...

He probably did it after visiting Oakland for the first time.

Ever been there? Its not as bad as people that have only seen it on television make it out to be. It has great sight lines. Grant it a new stadium would be nice, but its not a dump like Candlestick was.

Re: A's prospect leaving the game for priesthood
I've watched an A's game at the Coliseum once when I was visiting family in the LA area (they're A's fans).

I liked it when I visited there and the Giants new park in like 04 or whatever year it was that we went. It really wasn't that bad. I have been to stadiums in much worse condition. In fact, I love all the foul ground ;)

You do know that L.A. and Oakland, are like no where near each other? Just curious, because they are like 6 and a half hours apart, I don't know why you would go to L.A. just to drive up to Oakland for a ball game...that's all
