I am new to fm. I was going to start in 1970 but I was wondering if anyone new the correct years to make changes? (suchas introduction of a salary cap)

Free agency cranked up in...I'm pretty sure it was 1993? And I think the hard cap was introduced the next year...so '94, if I'm right.

And some stuff happens automatically, such as the goal posts being moved back ten yards and overtime.
Would be nice if you could control the rules.

Not only is it not automatic, these changes do not occur (new teams, as in Texans, salary cap, new stadiums) if you start before they are in effect and play back-to-back extended seasons until after the events would have begun.Quote:
