and why is Pedroia number 4? while Roberts is 5?

I feel like Biggio is ripped off being placed 8th as well.

has more hits than any other second basemen of the decade....that would be a pretty good reason.


and his high batting average, obp etc at the position. He is a very valuable second basemen, all through the decade.

I don't see how you can put someone with 3 years of playing time 4th on an all-decade list unless those 3 years were absolutely insanely good.

The only thing I can think of that MIGHT have dropped Biggio in someone's eyes as a second baseman is the time he spent playing in the outfield. Still doesn't make sense to have him 8th, though.

i know that Boone was earlier in the decade but he put up some nasty numbers from 01-03 :)

You can also reasonably drop Biggio lower because he only played 7 seasons in the decade--but if you do, how do you put Pedroia 4th?

He also wasn't particularly good for most of the decade... the 1990's were his time.
