well MG got this off topic fast.
anyway, glad they voted this one right, Mauer earned it, and i am happy he did, i don't want to see the mlb.com yankees page where the comments most likely are anger filled.
The voters are actually getting it right this year
Awesome they picked the right guy
pretty sad that we get excited when they pick the right guy

you should read some of the comments at the bottom of the page ;)
what's wild, is that Riveria beat out Grienke in MVP votes
a simple example

jmc198769-did you watch DJ all year? Do you know how clutch he is? He lead the best team in baseball in the toughest division in the MLB and you want to compare him to Joe Mauer? don't be rediculous...Joe Mauer had great numbers as I posted, but his defense can not be compared to a short stop. His RBI's can not be compared because Jeter had 153 at bats with no one on in front of him...get off the Joe Mauer band wagon and give Jeter some props!!
You're right, since catcher > shortstop.Quote:
but his defense can not be compared to a short stop.
Because we obviously can't do both.Quote:

The beginning of the end of days started here.Quote:

Joe Mauer is unclutch. What he hit .360? Stupid. If he was clutch he would hit .800
And with runners on base he should hit 1.000.
God damn bum.
The nice thing, is that i noticed a lot less jeter fandom as the voting progressed. I think some people started to wisen up a tiny bit.
hahaha
Just a simple example, it's impressive the stuff being said.Quote:
Sportswriters have made a JOKE of this years awards. Their brain is so far up their but. They dont know a MVP from a has been. Maybe they think Big Pappy should have been eligible.
it is almost worth taking the time to read
I bet that's an eleven year old kid who has 14 Jeter posters in his room.
Regarding the Heyman crap from before, this is some good stuff. My favorite part - Jon Heyman's hypothetical Cy Young vote last year:
1) Johan Santana
2) C.C. Sabathia
3) Brad Lidge
When you leave Tim Lincecum off your ballot in favor of a reliever and a pitcher who pitched half the season in the NL, you lose your right to make fun of the votes of smarter people.
Quote:
Clearly, without going back to the Cy Young debate that ensued this, Heyman shouldn’t throw stones from a glass house. Some of his award selections the past two seasons were an embarrassment, far worse than a voter leaving Carpenter off their Cy Young ballot. Carroll and Law each based their selections on thorough research, taking being a member of the BBWAA seriously. That’s what the fans and players deserve. You can disagree with their outcomes, but they clearly put in time and effort into their decisions, and then offered their reasoning to the public. Heyman and many of his colleagues, on the other hand, only offer one-liners that tell us nothing. Take this sentence, for instance: “feisty, versatile player personifies team.” That was his explanation for his decision to name Youkilis the third-most valuable player in the league. In regards to the Cy Young, Law, agree with him or not, made it clear why he left Carpenter off, with objective analysis.
Heyman is a skilled reporter with excellent sources, but he falls well short when it comes to evaluating players. Where he gets off calling out someone as intelligent as Law for his picks is beyond me. And, if he actually wants to find a “dumb sportswriter” to tweet about, I suggest that he look in the mirror.
