Ah, I see.

Seems semi-strange that both times those particular guys you stated Jeffy, both engaged in conversation in both "What are you thinking threads version 3 and 3.1" were both basically locked up when they entered the convo's. Don't really understand why in just those threads recently.
It is an inside thing I guess, I stopped doing it after a bit (After RSF got banned for it(Though didn't! Woo!)), I think it is mostly Ewing and Mets and so, Ewing always AIMs me about it. Well that and he constantly asks what team he should be in a new dynasty. lol
Well it's only a problem because legit threads are getting closed. The whole alt crap is dumb because the people who use them are painfully bad at being funny, but it's usually not a big deal unless it's actually getting in the way of actual posting. Once that happens, posters need to check themselves.
I've been wondering about this for awhile now. What happened to the mods? Their used to be alot of mods around. Ohm's Law, Boom, Steiny, Robin. Ohm's used to be a little heavy handed but he was effective in controlling the BS. He banned me several times. (on a side note how do i get my original user name of Brewersfan unbanned? That way I could stop being michellewie.) Last I remember I thought HGM was a mod as well. Don't know I was gone for along time and when I came back the forum seemed like a lawless wasteland.
I dont think the stuff is getting to anyone as you describe it. Its not like when we see it we want to toss our computer out the door every time we see stuff like this. With that said, this type of stuff will always lead to worse things being posted because if there is nobody to lay down the law, then what will stop someone from taking things further?
I honestly dont think there is anything wrong with discussing how to make things better, it is done all the time in situations outside the forum. Just because it is a forum doesnt mean we shouldnt strive to make things better around here for everyone.
When it's derailing threads and worse, getting them closed, it's a problem.
