I wish all voters voted like this
http://www.baseballprospectus.com/ar...articleid=9775 - Christina Kahrl explaining in-depth her approach to filling out her AL ROTY ballot.
http://www.baseballprospectus.com/ar...articleid=9773 - Will Carroll's thoughts on his NL ROTY ballot are here, but considerably less in-depth than Kahrl's, though I don't doubt that Carroll did a similar amount of homework when filling out his ballot.
I'm glad to see internet writers finally accepted into the BBWAA and given actual votes for the awards. It's even more refreshing to see them explain their votes in such detail that shows they really take it seriously. Hopefully, this is the wave of the future.

The people at BP get to vote for the awards?

The BBWAA accepted some internet writers last year, breaking from their tradition of only adding print writers to their members. I believe Kahrl and Carroll are the only two BP writers that were added last year (though surely more will be in the future). Rob Neyer and Keith Law were added from ESPN, and there were some other writers too I believe. All of their members are eligible to be selected to vote for seasonal awards. Kahrl and Carroll got ROTY votes, Law got an NL Cy Young vote. Neyer didn't get a vote for anything this year, but will likely sometime in the future.

Wait, so internet writers get selected to vote for certain awards, but regular writers get to vote for all of them?

What?
Each award - MVP, Cy Young, and Rookie of the Year - is voted on by 2 writers per city in each league. So, there are a total of 60 voters for each award - 32 in the NL and 28 in the AL. All the BBWAA members are eligible to be selected to vote.

I thought everyone in the BBWAA voted for all of the awards.

No.
For the Hall of Fame, every BBWAA member that has been a member for 10 or more years gets a vote.
