that hurt my head
I'm not even going to bother to read it. The last thing Derek Jeter needs is recognition.
Yeah, right, Ichiro is a big HR hitter. What a dumbass.
Okay so I read it and my head hurts. Why even link to this? lol It's not even a sportswriter or anything. It's just some idiot on another message board.
who had terrible grammar to begin with.
he wouldn't even be worth speaking to, or debating anything with. He rules out all possiblilites of anything other reasoning ever being accepted in his first few lines. It hurt my head the first time i started to read it. I couldn't finish it.
i posted a reply
None of you are worthy enough to wash Derek Jeter's nut sack.
It's actually worth seeing those arguments made by the original poster there. They are awful. All the typical jeter lover affair comments.
He was great in the playoffs (doesn't matter in mvp voting)
he deserves one because of his career (mvp for the year, not career)
he plays shortstop (mauer is a catcher, even harder position)
I just feel he deserves one (which is why you are not a voter, you have an opinion, not a valuable inteligent thought built for your argument)
He is one of the most clutch hitters of all time (impossible to prove)
He goes on to say that all the mvp award winners in the past have been juicers (didn't know pujols and pedroia were juicers, and if you are the most valuable by hitting homers, than you are)
He says Jeter is the greatest shortstop in the game, and probably the greatest of all time (I am pretty sure that guy in Florida, ya know, that younger guy, he is pretty good, oh and ya know, guys like Wager, Smith, Appracio, even a-rod, ripken etc have all had great careers too)
He seems to give batting average a lot of merit (it's a valuable stat to look at, but there are many more stats that tell a greater value, for example, obp and ops)
The dude's grammar is awful! (I commented about it, but then my comment got deleted, that was very painful to read)
Your typical jeter hard on fan that is so blind to what is real that he is prepared to make up whatever he can to try and say his guy has earned the mvp.
I could do the same thing with Carp and waino and try to prove they have won over Lincecum, but they didn't really (and i tried). Blind fandom is worse than fair weather fandom sometimes
fanatic = marked by excessive enthusiasm and often intense uncritical devotion
fan = an enthusiastic devotee (as of a sport or a performing art) usually as a spectator
zealot = a zealous person; especially : a fanatical partisan
zealous = filled with or characterized by zeal : marked by fervent partisanship for a person, a cause, or an ideal
zeal = eagerness and ardent interest in pursuit of something
Most of the voters don't have that either. ;)Quote:

Its dumb****s like him that make me hate Yankee fans.
Agreed. I am pretty sure he has gotten so much recognition that people really believe he is an amazing fielding shortstop and I'm pretty sure I hear enough praise on every national broadcast about him. Enough recognition.
Agreed. Plus I was born to hate them.
Really? Tom Hardicourt. What's the back story?? I subscribe to the Journal/Sentinel & always read his articles. He actually said in an article that Looper wasn't doing that bad because he had 13 wins and a good winning %. Was he involved of some kinda controversy that I didn't hear about?

His weird MVP ballot from last year. Albert Pujols' team wasn't in the playoffs so he couldn't be the MVP. And Carlos Delgado was more valuable because the Mets...also didn't make the playoffs?
It was just a weird, homerrific ballot.
you're also hypocriting yourself. You were the one telling me not to get so worked up about Mcgehee. so who cares if he had Delgado ahead of Pujios. Pujois still won.
My God, what a *****.
Anyway thanks for showing that HGM. I never read the blogs online or anything. I prefer my paper in paper form. Hardicourt is kinda nuts LOL. but I don't mind him being a homer I like that about him. I have to find that interview Brewers owner Antanasio did after the season where he said the Brewers pitching wasn't that bad because they had 2 12 game winners for the 1st time since '92 :eek::eek:. I spit out my coffee when I heard that.
On the Hardicourt issue, anyone that votes with such homer picks, and ignores any rational, logical sense when defending those arguments doesn't need to be casting votes for MVP, Hall of Fame etc.
He clearly ignored the guidelines to the voting
That's not unfortunate at all. This revolution has changed the way the media runs. Yes, it's slowly but surely killing print media but classes in college now are centered on mass media students being excellent with online capabilities.
Technological revolutions are not unfortunate...only for those unwilling to change
Yeah I agree with that, the only reason I said unfortunate was because I used to love reading the Boston Globe or the Herald and it is slowly dominishing. Most of those writers are electronic now which doesn't hurt since I am now living out of the area, haha.
It'd be easier to recognize him if he'd quit trying to disguise himself

Homeless bumb Jeter!
actionjackson! Welcome back!
where have you been the last 3 months?
Thanks HGM. Didn't really go away, just didn't feel like posting much.
Good to see you back.
OK, I think Jeter deserves the MVP, however I think Tex deserves it more. If you lead the league in homers and RBI for the team with the best record. Plus you play gold glove defence... Mark Texeria for MVP.
and what about mauer?
